fresh fruit and veggies in smoothies?

can i blend fresh fruit and greens (spinach and kale) into my protein shakes during the full liquid part of the post op diet?

Yup, I did. I am a vegetarian and I missed my veggies. I started adding spinach to my smoothies in week 1. The best part is, it may help you not become constipated.

Why not give your nutritionist a call? Every program will have a different protocol.

That was definitely not permitted for me on full liquids. Get in touch with your surgical practice and see what their rules are. If you aren't given any guidance on that, I guess I would say take it slow and make sure that you account for all the extra calories and carbs you will be adding to your diet.
