Hello fellow sleever's

I am 5 years out. I feel compelled to speak openly to you all. I'm typing on a phone so excuse typos.

1. This is a life changing event.

2 the day will come when you can eat other stuff in moderation. However you will need to be focused and stay on the diet

3. Protein. Protein. Protein. So how do you get it all in???? It's hard I know do your shakes. If your tired of them. Change it up. powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury protein has chicken Soup and unflavored. Use them in a blended drink. Veggies and fruits can be liquified and strained to form natural juice. Add Water and some protein. Add some spices (mild one) to Soups and broth.

4. Walk walk walk. The easiest thing to do. And you can do it in bursts. Walk around your house. Walk the drive way or even down the block if your not in pain

5 use your support groups and family/friends. Don't rush it. Recovery is the main reason for the liquid. Your stomach was cut off and stapled/ stitched and it will feel soar.

6 if you feel sick or nauseated that's normal. I was on anti nausea meds for 3 months used them as needed. Ask your dr if a Zantac or similar might help. Gas x is your buddy. I still use it.

7 lastly. Don't believe anyone who says VS doesn't cause dumping. It does high sugar, heavy foods and sometimes things you lease expect will cause it. Something you eat today will disagree with you tomorrow.

Also. If you feel like food is stuck, or have a odd discomfort try a teaspoon of hot Water. Yes hot. It helps to relax the muscles in the digestive track and helps the item. Go down. (Next bite chew better count to 50 with each bite)

Use smaller plates and cups. I litterely bought a 2 oz measuring cup to drink from and cocktail forks to eat with. Good luck all you got this.

I am hoping for a August sleeve I am so scared of the liquid stage. I am to a very emotional eater, I know I need to do this and want to do this for many different reasons. I just hope and pray I can get thru that liquid stage.

After 5 years and 35 lbs regain I went back to the beginning. I have been on liquids for 3 days now. I just look at it as a way of life.

I have to choose my foods carefully and if I don't start back at square 1 I run risk of gaining more. So I know it's hard to drink and drink and drink some more. But if you chew gum and do sugar free fudge pops and other things from the approved liquids list. (Each docs list varies use your approved one). It gets easier.

The need for the liquids is to heal the stomach and provide the needed Protein and nutrition. That is difficult when your an emotional eater, foodie or just love carbs. My down fall is Peanut Butter anything. Tells you how I gained back some weight.

So I'm there with you. Drinking and enjoying the thought of wearing a bikini again on my next cruise.

I am 2 months out and 63lb down but I am struggling to find food to eat! I can eat anything really but I have gone to a point where I can go a whole day without eating, get up the next morning then realise I didn't eat day before, I can't find easy meals I can do without ending up having lots left over and goes to waste

"Whether you think YOU CAN or you think YOU CAN'T... you're RIGHT!"

So choose: YOU CAN!!!

I try daily with a positive attitude but my depression is not under control due to not being able to take my medication properly so having to start a new one but I am trying to be positive!
I'm sorry your in between meds. I no what that does its no picnic. I started out as post partum 26 yrs ago have struggled since. The past few yrs mine finally leveled out I started applying pure spray magnesium stopped the pill form and doing much better along with my med. I did stop and drastic change in my diet 2 yrs ago it helped. Hang in there. I don't care what ppl think you can be the most positive person but depression can suck the living life out of ya. I hope you find something to help you get through it..xx

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
