March 31st Band to Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hi all! Any band to sleeve revision people out there? I had the band in 2009 and it never really worked. I decided to go and get the sleeve after gaining some weight.

I'm on day 3 of my all liquid pre-op diet and I guess it's getting easier?!

Anyone out there band to sleeve revision with a great success story they want to share? Anyone else having surgery March 31?

I'm not having a revision, I'm actually having my first surgery. I'm going to have the sleeve done. But my surgery date is March 31st. Maybe we could be sleeve buddies. Haha

Having my first surgery on March 31st.

I spent lots of time thinking if I should go for lapband or for sleeve. Lots of people advised me not to go for the band, so I finally decided to go for the sleeve.

Wish you all the best in your journey.

I have heard that band is horrible. I have seen a few people with good luck with it I guess. But for the most part horror stories. Lol. I'm feeling better about the surgery. The closer it gets the more I feel I have come to terms with it. I just hope it goes smoothly. I'm actually to the point I just want it over with. Lol. Like I can't wait for 3 more days to go by. Lol

Hi, Im new here and strongly considering band to sleeve revision. I got my band in 2008 and it was making me sick. Got stuck on simple things sometimes couldn't drink Water. I decided to have an unfill, so this has been sitting in my belly doing nothing..I'm now weighing more than I did before my band surgery and now have high blood pressure.. @@readinva how long did it take for you to go from consult to surgery? Was it the same process and when u got your band?

I went in for my consult with the surgeon in December and was approved by my insurance Feb 2. I work in a school so waited until spring break for the surgery which is tomorrow!! This surgery is more involved than the band and I've had more pre op appointments this time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
