  3. I am a mom to a 7 and 5 year old, work full time as an instructional coach and was sleeved March 31. The first month or so it was hard to try to remember everything. I brought all my medication in my school bag and would take it when I got to work. Work is more calm and I can concentrate on myself. food planning was tough. My husband took over planning dinners for the first month or so until I could eat with everyone. When I go to the grocery store I buy easy snack and meals for myself and make sure no one else eats them (Laughing Cow cheese, Protein shakes, chicken breasts, etc). When ever my husband grills I always save the leftovers and take them with me to work so I have a pretty good supply of food. It does get easier! And summer is coming! 3 weeks is still early. It will get easier! Especially when you can eat!!
  4. I was sleeved on March 31st. Things are going very well for me. I was hoping to maybe lose a little more in this first 6 weeks but I'll take it. Share how your journey is going!!!! Surgery Weight: 222.2 Current Weight: 201.8 (DOWN 20.4lbs) Pre Surgery size-18 Current size-14 Concerns: I ran out of my heart burn prescription and ever since then I've had a really hungry feeling. I'm going back for my next visit in a couple days so I will ask to refill then. Joys: My old clothes are fitting again. So happy! I've also gotten over the "I miss being able to eat" phase. It was hard but I'm doing so much better now. . Exercise: Nope, haven't started. Bad I know!
  5. Sleeve 3/31/15---222.2 4/14---209.0 Down 13.2lbs in 14 days. I'll take it!

  7. Just got back from Target with two huge tubs of Panera baked potato soup. At 9 days out, it's possibly the best thing I've ever eaten!!!! I measured out 1/4 cup and sprinkled a little low fat cheddar on top. It was mind blowing! I checked Panera and they don't sell it now...its seasonal!
  8. I was going to go back tomorrow but am going to work from home instead. I have an hour commute and I'm worried about that for some reason. My energy and pain is fine I've had some stomach/bathroom issues today and that scares me. I'm just nervous to go back!!!

  10. Hello! My surgery was 3/31 and everything went awesome! I had a lapband removal at the same time as my sleeve. I also had a heital hernia which I wasn't prepared for at all! Stayed in the hospital for two days although the doc said I could go home the next day... I wanted the rest! I had an on-Q pump thing to help with pain and my husband took it out today. Also have to do daily lovinox shots to avoid blood clots. Been doing pretty great. Just got back from a solo trip to Target and that was exhausting. Going back to work Tuesday so trying to get my stamina up. Weighed 222 day of the surgery, 234 when I got home and back to 222 today. If anyone would like to email to chat, please do! 11. I went in for my consult with the surgeon in December and was approved by my insurance Feb 2. I work in a school so waited until spring break for the surgery which is tomorrow!! This surgery is more involved than the band and I've had more pre op appointments this time.
  12. Hi all! Any band to sleeve revision people out there? I had the band in 2009 and it never really worked. I decided to go and get the sleeve after gaining some weight. I'm on day 3 of my all liquid pre-op diet and I guess it's getting easier?! Anyone out there band to sleeve revision with a great success story they want to share? Anyone else having surgery March 31?
  13. This is my third day. First day was bad, headaches, irritable, etc. each day has gotten easier but it's no joke! My husband is wonderful and he has been preparing dinner for the kids and I've been hanging out in the red room while they eat. That helps!

  16. I'm on day three and it's really hard sticking to three shakes a day. After three days I'm having a hard time...it seems like food is everywhere! But I do agree, this is a nice prep for my new life. But it stinks!
  17. I am on a two week liquid diet. Three protein shakes a day and a powered soup for dinner. Nothing else!!!
  18. How has your recovery been?
  19. March 31st for me! I go to my surgeon tomorrow for pre op stuff! So excited!

  21. Hello all! I submitted my paperwork on Feb 2 and was approved Feb 3 to remove my lapband and get sleeved! So excited! I'm am an instructional coach at a school and am hoping that the week I have for spring break will be enough to recover. I've been exercising everyday to try to get my body in better shape so I'll recover faster. How long did you take off work??
