Two weeks out and not losing :(

Recommended Posts

HANG.IN.THERE. I was so where you are about 10 weeks ago. Frustrating beyond belief. Your body is adjusting...just keep following the plan and it will work. It just works at different speeds for different people.

The "dreaded 3 week stall"! Mine lasted 2 1/2 weeks. Not everyone is the same, though.

I am right there with you. I am starting my third week and my weight has not budged an bit. I put away my scale and will not weigh myself until my follow-up with the surgeon on the 26th. I hope this will keep me from getting discouraged. I know this will break at some point. I am writing down everything I eat. I get between 800 and 1000 calories a day. I ride my bike at least 45 minutes 6 days a week. There is no way my body can maintain 238 pounds forever. It will break at some point.

I am in my fourth week and have not lost anything in over a week. It is so frustrating and I am getting very down about it. I am doing everything I should be but the weight is just not budging!

I just had surgery 1.5 weeks ago, but I dread hitting a stall. I know it's normal and requires patience and all that... Still I really would like to avoid or shorten them. Before surgery I would take organic yacon Syrup a few times a day and it has helped me break stalls in the past. Has anyone tried this after vsg?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
