So I had the procedure 3/3/15. Thought it was the worse decision I ever made. I would have rather had 6 labor and deliveries or this surgery. I don't do well with pain meds... Therefore I didn't get a great amount of relief like most people do. Nausea has been rough. Every drink I've taken I felt pain going thru top to bottom. Diarrhea is an issue too. Running to the bathroom like I have a GI bug. All and all this is day 3 post op. Today has been a better day. Less nausea and pain. This morning I had trouble taking fluids in without stomach pains or running to the bathroom. But I took a little nap, woke up and chewed my flinestone Vitamin and my tums, than chased it down with a sugar free orange Popsicle and I have to say it layed well so far. Getting ready for my next tramadol for pain, and I'll have to take some more carafate to coat my stomach. Has anyone else experienced this much pain/discomfort post op? My best friend had her's done 6 months ago, and she had none of these symptoms she had it so easy. ???? please give input.

You just had surgery, yes I had pain the first 3-5 days but it lessens and eventually goes away. I'm 4 months out now and can assure you it never crosses my mind unless I'm asked. Give it a little time, I know it sucks but I promise you will get better!

I had surgery last week on 2/24/15. I have to tell you, even day 5 compared to day 3 is a total 180. Those first 3 days are a doozie and you doubt your decision. I went back to work on my 7th day post-op and I'm an RN in a busy unit and I feel great. Give it a week-- you will feel totally different! Hope this encourages you! Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
