March 3rd is the Day! Finally!

Recommended Posts

Hey yal! I'm Sarah and after about a year of considerations, hoops, and hurdles...it's finally scheduled!! I'm having the VSG in San Antonio BAMC and I am so ready to change my life. I'm on the liqui diet and I'm not even hungry!! It's Mardi Gras here in LA and I haven't eaten a thing! That tells u how ready I am! Anyone else March 3rd or around or at BAMC!?

March 3rd....I'm on the prep liquid diet and don't find that to be as much of a challenge, but am more concerned with feeling loopy at work as I don't feel fuelled up enough and my brain is foggy:(. Anyone else feel this....

I don't feel exactly loopy but I'm having some serious brain fog I guess. I am SO hungry. I was super pumped about being ready and not hungry on the liquid diet. Everyone said "you're fine by day 4"...but Ever since I hit day 4 I actually feel like im starving, full of anxiety from hunger, and can't focus . My poor hubs is ready to sell me to the highest bidder. I've cried a million times. I'm a happy person but I've been such a witch. Anyone else feel a little down?

Hello All,

I had my surgery March 4 in NY and I am down 16lbs. I think this is great, not sure if it's typical, but I am thrilled. How is everyone else doing?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
