Very slow weight loss

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone I am new but had my surgery 8/13/14. 6 months out and 84lbs down. I have been loosing weight very slowly during past months. 5 lbs in the last month and 1lb in the last 2 weeks. I have been eating more protien the last month and exercising the last 2 weeks. Just frustrated and scared of my weight not going down.

How much more weight do you need to lose? Are you close to goal?

I know for me, it was not an even amount if weight I lost every month. Some months it was only a few lbs but I would lose a dress size. Just keep measuring your food and concentrate on Protein and drink plenty of Water. You've got this!

My surgery was 9/3 and I'm only down 63lb. It has been slowing down the last month or two. I'm hoping it picks back up soon.

Hi I have 73lbs more to go. I do feel my clothes getting bigger but just scared the weight loss can stop. I have yoyo dieted since I was 8yrs old and just scared I can gain or not loose anymore.

Thanks for your feed back. It is hard talking to people who aren't going through this. It helps me see that this is happening to others and probably normal. Even though it frustrates us :)

I'm just past 4 months and have lost on average of 2 pounds a week. My doc says I have slow metabolism.

As the weight loss slows use this time to solidify good habits that will follow you for your new life. This is a marathon not a sprint and you need this time of adjustment. Continue doing what you know is beneficial for your health and wellbeing and your goal is attainable.

Hang in there, you are not alone. I am so frustrated with the scale that I try not to make it a factor anymore. My clothes are falling off me and I am so much happier than I was before surgery.

I am just trying to stay healthy and patient.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
