Lent starts Wednesday! Do you give anything up?

Recommended Posts

The 40 days of Lent has always been a great excuse for me to use a little religious guilt to give up some form of food for 40 days. My dad gives up beer, my mom gives up sweets, my sister gives up ice cream, and I inevitably give up something ridiculous like soda, sweets, or junk food in general. Last year was the first Lent I was sleeved and I didn’t give anything up because I didn’t feel like I needed to- I was eating healthy as it was and losing weight. This year I am very close to goal and having a really hard time hitting those last few pounds, so Lent seems like a great time to give something up to get on track to lose the last little bit.

Anybody else making a 40 day sacrifice?

I used to give up fast food, and forced my family to, as well. They hated it, lol. Now I don't eat fast food. I don't know what I could give up....I don't eat any of the usual lent suspect like pop, candy, Cookies, etc. Perhaps I'll give up cussing....but I really hate to! Maybe I could give up coffee, but I love my coffee. So, I suppose the cussing would be the actual best for my soul ;)

I am also going to use Lent to try to get my last 10 pounds off. I plan to restrict my eating to just the three meals a day with no Snacks. On fast days I will have one meal along with 2 Protein Shakes a day, one for Breakfast and one more for lunch. That should help keep my Protein levels up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
