3 weeks post op - gas at night questions

I am just about 3 weeks out from RNY surgery 1-28-15

I have enormous amounts of gas at night when I lay down to sleep and then when i wake up. (long loud trumpet blast kind)

I don't have it at any other time of the day, just at night and 1st thing in the morning.

What's up with that? Anyone else have this? Will it ever end?

I don't drink or eat anything I'm not suppose to (on phase 2b mostly puree with small amounts of soft foods as well). I don't use a straw.

They say not to drink or eat two hours before going to bed may be part of the problem . I use Gas-X whenever I have issues with gas during the day... You might want to try it out before you go to bed see if it helps.. I know I have issues during the night depending on when I've eaten and I am 8 weeks postop. Good luck and hang in there usually most things get better as your body heals and can tolerate.
