@@richieoneal411@gmail.com How are you deciding what size to choose? I was thinking of buying a goal outfit but unsure what size to make it. I really want to wear leggings and tall boots!

@@Seahawkgirl I definitely have a goal size I'm trying to get to after surgery and for that I do have a goal outfit, but I'm also prepping by buying clothing of different sizes just to have as options such as tees sweats undergarments I currently wear a 4x 5x size so I'm doing light shopping for those type of pieces in 2x 1x range

Lord, I wear 3X, but I have 2X, 1X and XL waiting for me to work my way down. I don't think I saved anything smaller than that on my last few trips up and down the yo yo string. Maybe I'll buy a goal outfit in a Large and then hope I get to choose a smaller goal outfit after that! Large! That seems crazy right now!

Me too!!! I was talking to my aunt the other day and we decided that once I'm at a size where I can zip up riding boots from a normal store she's going to buy me a nice pair. I can't wait to be able to wear boots, leggings, and a tunic :) I'm glad I've been saving jeans over the years so hopefully I'll have some to wear at the in-between stages. I'm in the 22/24 range right now and I think I have some saved down to size 16. I'm thinking that consignment is going to be my friend over the next year, no sense is spending a lot of money on clothes that won't fit.

I am having the same thoughts. My wish list includes a nicely fitted (not tight but fitted) black turtle neck with jeans. I know that sounds so simple, but I have all but given up fitted sweaters at this point.

I may watch the sale racks now for a good deal on my sweater for Winter 2015. Just imagine where we will all be then.

@@mykdzmom That's a great idea about the sale racks. I can't wait to be able to buy clothes from normal stores. Right now my style is pretty limited by what fits me, I'm excited to develop more of a personal style afterwards!

My husband kept telling me to get rid of the clothes in our closet that no longer fit me. I just couldn't bare to part with them! It will be such a joy to get rid of all the "fat Lorrie clothing" - knowing I'll never go back there again!!

I can't wait for the day when I'll be able to shop in the Women's section, they have such a selection of cute clothes to chose from! Shopping is going to be fun again!!!

I can't wait either. Imagine using your closet for the close you wear rather than a shrine to the sizes you used to wear... Lol

Lol, sorry clothes...

Hi Mel!

Welcome! :)

If you've been doing WW since 2011 - you probably won't need to have any Dr. supervised weight loss appts! Lucky you! Keep us posted on when you get your surgery date. I'll be finished with my supervised appts. in May so I'm really hoping to be sleeved in June! Have a good weekend!

Hey guys! I guess I should update now that this process is officially rolling. I go see the cardiologist this week and NUT and the upper GI endoscopy next week. I have to call Monday to schedule my sleep study. Because I'm self-pay, my surgeon says I'll likely need only a couple NUT visits and when I spoke to my case manager she echoed that especially because I've been doing so much research and already started to implement a high Protein low carb diet. We'll see! So there is a possibility that I'm looking at a May date now!!!

How is everyone's process going?

Hi everyone! I had my psych eval, & he cleared me for surgery. I attended group yesterday (required to attend one meeting by my surgeon). Fourth Nut appt. in two weeks! Then two more to go! Can't believe how quickly everything is going! I'm super excited!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
