I had surgery on Sept. 1 and returned to work Sept. 16. I just have a desk job and it was pretty tough making it through the day when I went back. My main issue was fatigue. I was still very tired all of the time.

I was off only 6 days and it was enough. My goal after surgery was to follow orders and feel as well as can be. I had no issues going back other than being slower than usual. The walking from meeting to meeting also is an added benefit.

Good Luck.

My surgeon's protocol is 2 weeks and you can go back with restrictions (lifting, pushing/pulling, etc). 3 weeks, go back with no restrictions. I actually requested an additional week so was off for 4 (am a night shift RN and really didn't want to risk re-injury). At 2 weeks, there was no way I could go back. no pain, but still tired very easily and had trouble thinking clearly at times. This is my first night back after just over 4 weeks and am doing ok.

I had my surgery on Thursday and went to work on Monday. I had no issues, did not feel fatigue, and have been fine. Nobody is the same tho. I have a desk job with some driving to meetings. I haven't taken so much as a Tylenol after surgery so if you're still needing pain meds the story would be different.

I took a week and a half. The rest of the two week window was part time at work. Full time I went back after 2 weeks.

2 weeks, which was a great amount of time to rest, recover, and get used to eating/drinking with my new sleevie.

My doctor recommended 6 weeks. Luckily, my short-term disability was approved for that long. Initially, I didn't think I would take all that time off but I am SO glad I did. It was a gift to myself - time to solidly create new, healthy habits and to really get to know my 'new' self. It made going back to work enjoyable rather than stressful!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
