Six Simple Ingredients... !?!?!

Recommended Posts

Perhaps I'm a bit touchy today, but when I saw there was an article here in the newsletter section titled, "Six Simple Ingredients to Get Weight Off And Keep It Off", I was taken aback. :o I find the use of the word "simple", when combined with weight issues, to be insulting. Pretty much NOTHING related to my weight issues is simple. If it was, I would have resolved it long ago.

Perhaps it rings a little too close to a phrase I've seen many times, that I consider insulting and condescending, and that is, "weight loss is simple, just eat less calories."

I probably wouldn't have even thought twice about it if it was called "Six Important Ingredients..." or something like that.

You're not alone in this. Feels WAY too much like some magazine add for 'skinny celebrity pills' at the supermarket.

I come here to hear, and share my experiences with WLS....sometimes, if I did not know better, you think you stumbled upon any run of the mill weight loss sites such as jenny craig, weight watchers, etc, etc....with no mention about surgery.

I have tried every diet under the sun...fell for every gimmick and listened to every snake oil salesman out there...nothing worked. I failed at every single one.....that is why, as a last resort, I was referred for Surgery....

And surgery is what worked and surgery is what I am here to share....

Sometimes, when I read things here, I wonder if the person posting has even had weight loss surgery, because they sure don't talk like it.

There has been a big increase in magazine articles. So far I have related to a few but not most. I wish they didn't show up as "new posts in forums" but stayed in the magazine section.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
