Got banded in Springfield MO??

Recommended Posts

I am so excited, I was able to jump into the seminar on the 11th. :) They had a cancelation so i jumped on it and am in the 11th instead of the 23rd. I really am hoping to get this surgery before the holidays. Hopefully now I can. I plan on getting my paperwork filled out after the meeting and faxing it first thing in the morning. :)

Great news, amber! Woohoo!

I am 16 days post-op with my first fill scheduled for Sept. 10. The best meal I have had so far is fresh tomatoes, peeled, with cottage cheese. Yummmmmm! No more mushies! Everyone have a good day.

Hi Everyone!

I know its been a REALLY long time since I have posted on here. I am doing great. I am not eating very healthy... still eating pizza and sweets (sometimes) but I have lost 52 pounds since my surgery on May 9th, 2008. Getting the Lap Band was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have REALLY had to learn to eat slow and take small bites. There have been quite a few times I have thrown up and got the thick Fluid in my mouth (im sure some of you know what I mean) its gross and I hate it. So I have had to learn my lesson (a couple times). I am going to start lifting weights cause I have some skin under my arms that totally grosses me out but I am loosing and feeling great and happy! I had my second fill at the beginning of August and will have another one in a month or so. Take care everyone and stay strong! If your out there reading this and thinking of having the Lap Band done, there is not anything I would recommend more. It has changed my life allready and I know theres more to come! Take it easy everyone!!!

~Holly~

Holly: it sounds like you are doing good. Exercise will up your metabolism to help keep it coming off! I work out 5-6 days a week. It's slow going for me now, but I finally lost another pound yesterday. :-)

LemonLime: I hope your approval moves along quickly so you can get the show on the road (as my Dad used to say)!

Katie is so nice there is no reason to freak out. Mainly she is just looking for areas that you might need extra help, such as exercise, grazing, carb addict, poor nutrition, etc. The test asks the same questions in different ways. They are about yourself and your habits, like do you smoke, etc. If you have a specific question, I'll try to answer it. I had my evaluation around 2-3 months ago and there is no right or wrong answer.

Hey everyone. :) Things are finally starting to progress. I have had the insitial consultation with Dr Edwards, Katie, dietician, exercise rehab, and the 8 hour class. I have my final follow-up with Katie tomorrow, and then it's back on the waiting game for a final consultation with Dr Edwards. :) I am so excited. I hope they can get me in quickly.

After you all completed everything, how long did it take to get the final consultation with edwards, and the surgery date? Just curious. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
