My six weeks after surgery was truly- BANDSTER HELL!! :hungry:

Sounds like everyone/thing is going as expected.

It was really nice to meet Tabitha.... she was so kind... I have a "new to me" treadmill, thanks to her generosity!! :whoo: As self-pay for my band, and a stay/work at home Mom, we have no exercise budget! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TABITHA.:clap2:

I am sooooo excited to see more and more people joining our tiny thread!!!

I enjoy this site so very much, and messaging with people who have even more in common( area, same doctor,weather,etc...), is even better.

Great to see all of you posting!!

Keep the updates coming! Good luck, and great weight loss!:D

P.S. please forgive me for the occasional check ins.... my computer is really a dinosaur...lol REALLY it is....:ranger:

I am to check into the hospital for my surgery! :clap2:

I am really looking forward to this. I have been so good these past 2 weeks, something I didn't think I could do. Now I know I can DO THIS!

See you all on the Banded side

Paula, I forgot to ask... how was your first fill, and are you ready for a second fill yet? Are you having any "problem foods" yet? Restriction? Do you know if you got the new AP band? Good luck and great health to all!!

I'm back, everything is going well, I think. I still get kind of tired, but every day seems a little better! This still doesn't seem 'real' yet, tho.

Hi Jill!! I'm so glad everything went well. You know, tomorrow will be one month post-op for me and it still doesn't seem real! It is still kind of weird to think I have that thing in there. :) It took about a week and a half before I was able to do anything without getting tired easily. Even coming back to work - and I have a sit down job - was exhausting! It will get easier though.

Hang in there!

I was also very tired for the first couple of weeks, maybe even longer. Or maybe I was just milking the excuse to take a nap whenever I wanted to. :-)

Just take it slow and easy and do what your Dr. advises.

I understand about it not feeling real. I was banded in May and overall have lost 61 pounds. Talk about not feeling real!! It's incredible.

Quite is right! ........or wrong?:cry

Hello-everyone!!!

My "little baby girl", Mazie, is turning 2 years old this week!!

We are having a party for her :happybday: with ice cream cake and everything.;) (Hope I can resist all but, a tiny piece.) She is growing up so fast, she no longer gets a "binky" now that she is a big girl! :baby: Moving on to the terrible twos...:devious!

:clap2: Please post everything and anything, to keep us updated on what's going on.

Tabitha- when is your 1st/2nd fill scheduled- you already had a fill? How was the experience? restriction? Still dancing? The occasional after work cocktail going down OK?:cocktail:

Jill- update? fill schedule? Any problem foods yet?

Legster- what do you do for exercise? Where are you as far as fills go? My info. is there in the signature. I'm always curious about the differences with each person.

I know I had to keep going back for fills :( -- I wish I didn't wait so long for some. I would wonder if I really needed a fill. That is until' this last one, then I knew I should have been going sooner. After my last fill instead of my usual week or weeks, of asking myself "do I need another fill, I am eating less than before?", :hungry: I was happy to say "oh yea, now that is restriction... I can eat but, it's so little!". I think if I was wondering about enough fill- I needed more- until' I was no longer wondering!

Any way great to visit with you all and share my experiences-looking forward to hearing more from you! :ranger: Good night-Kimberly

Hey Kimberly!

I work out 6 days a week at Contours Express on E. Battlefield. I alternate days of cardio and weightlifting. I can't believe it, but I really enjoy it! Everyone is so friendly there which just makes it seem like a snap.

I've had 3 fills and I have 4cc in my 10cc band and I'm holding here pretty well right now. I could probably be tighter, but I am losing and am still able to take all my pills, etc. with no problem. I imagine I'll need at least one more in the next few months.

Happy birthday to Mazie and thanks for asking!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
