What is a HMR 800 shake?

hey Jill, its a brand of a shake my dietician provided me. They seem to be ok and taste good too. I use a Blender Bottle which make it more smooth. Hope all is well!

Oh, okay. I'm not familiar with that kind. It's tasty? Lots of Protein? I love spicy food!

Ok, well started my 2 week pre-op diet. 2 kiwis, 1 banana, 1 HMR 800 shake and a Vitamin. Hey, its no chik-fil-a spicy chicken Breakfast biscuit but ill take it. I feel....pleasantly satisfied.

I have to say, I started on phase 2 of my diet and I'm having a hard time. For phase 2, I have a shake for Breakfast and one for lunch and then a small dinner. I can still have veggies with my shakes and 2 small Snacks. But, my body thinks it is starving. My poor husband is trying to be super patient. I feel cranky!

I hear you! I can't really say I'm hungry, but just so unsatisfied. I keep telling myself that the shakes taste good and have enough calories for me to feel full but they are not yummy! I know I can get through these next few weeks and that surgery has been my goal though. I am looking forward to my new life and being able to do so many things I can't do now because of my weight. Only 17 more days till surgery!

@@Jill_Icardi Good luck to you, that is really a bummer though. That is one thing I have to say I am pretty blessed about. My boyfriend and I work opposite schedules so no one is home with me at night so I have no one there eating around me. On the weekends he "leaves the house" three times a day to eat. He is really trying to help. If he does eat at home I just leave the room and wait until he is done. It helps. You are going to do great!! Keep up the good fight!!

This year is for me! This year I am taking care of myself. Today is my birthday and in 3 days I am getting surgery to change my life! This is my birthday gift to myself! We all should be so proud of the choice we have made! Don't let people tear you down or make you feel like you are "taking the easy way out!" Believe in yourself!! I look forward to taking this journey with all of you!

This is day 8 on pre-op. I'm doing 2-3 protien shakes per day and cabbage or brussel sprouts occasionally. I need to lose another 6lbs by next thursday and I'm freaking out!! I woke up this morning and the scale said I GAINED a lb!! How does that even happen?!? Anyone have any advice?? I have to be under a certain BMI to avoid having to pay an extra fee. 6lbs in 7 days.....someone help!

How'd you do? Did you have your surgery?

A bit of a rant. I realize that this is "my" battle with food and that I can't expect everyone in my life to not eat in front of me, but for the past two evenings, my husband has brought home fast food and ate it in front of me. I normally make something for him but I didn't the past couple of days. This **** just gets real when you are sitting there with your Water and there's the smell of French fries wafting through the air. If I complain, he will tell me that "I chose this", so I don't dare say a word. It just makes me feel like a freak because I can't eat like others do. I survived without raiding the fridge. I just went online and started looking the success stories. I can't wait for the weather to warm up because I am going to start going for walks when this happens again. But really??? French fries?!?! in front of a carb addict!! That's my crack. Okay, *taking a deep breath*...rant over. Boys and girls, we are at war with our own minds. I am not going to let it win. I have just over 3 weeks until my surgery date and I have lost over 30 lbs. in just over a month. I am declaring war on McDonald's french fries! :)

Kind of sounds like sabotage that my nut talked about!

I'm on for surgery March 18th! I started liquids Tuesday, was supposed to start Wednesday, but wanted to do a sample day just to see how i did. I'm mostly doing ok. Its harder at home.. feeding my kids.. cooking for them.. Hard!

I'm excited. I have some nerves. I want to write letters to my kids (just in case) I know the surgery will go well, but.. i just want them to know how much i love them. I have an 8 year old and a 1.5 year old. Did anyone else do this? Did you tell your kids about the surgery? My 8 year old came with me to two nut appts, so he knows mom is "trying to lose the belly".

Started last June and two surgeons, two states and three insurances later I'm scheduled March 30th. Over that time I've given up carbinated drinks, fast food and junk food. Joined the gym and do a Protein Drink for breakfast every day. Ordered bunches of sample shakes and Vitamins. Bought a vitamix and a vacuum sealer. I'm ready for pre-op and no fears of surgery. Nervous about the life changing afterwards but it's full stream ahead! So glad for these forums.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
