Abdominal Swelling - Pregnant looking Belly

Question to all you post--opers. I'm a nubile and one week post VSG. How long does it take for some of the abdominal swelling to subside? I look like I'm about 6 months pregnant. Is there a way to decrease the swelling more rapidly? suggestions?

I'm 9 days post-op, and mine is still swollen a little bit, but not anywhere near as much as it was when I first came home. I also agree that you should walk as much as possible. This too shall pass! :)

Thanks everyone for your help. Looks like I will be walking a lot more!

I was told by my surgeon that the stomach swelling can take up to six weeks to completely reduce. Just hang in there it was a major internal operation. I still have some issues with mine being so large to. My jeans are constantly tight and they are my "fat" jeans.
