I just wanted to "weigh in" on this. About 5 years ago I had lost 160 lbs on my own and it was difficult. Unfortunately I gained a good portion of it back. 111 lbs to be exact. I am now 5 weeks post op. During my initial weight loss the process was hard but whenever you wanted to take a break from dieting for a day or so, you could. You could have a beer or some pizza or a burger etc... Then get back on the diet afterwards. With gastric bypass it is not the easy way out. It can and probably will take a mental and emotional toll on you. It is difficult to stay focus on what to eat, not overeating. Not being able to just eat whatever you want. You need to have mental fortitude to get through it. Does it make it easier to lose weight, yes... But that does not mean it's easier on you mentally.. Do what's best for you and who cares what others think. By the way.. It seems to get easier mentally as you begin to lose the weight. Right now it seems worth the fight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
