Bacon, thanks for the laugh.

I spent all afternoon cooking with my friend and sharing stories and wine and cheese and dip. Come dinner time I took one bite and couldn't eat another. I didn't get stuck at all, just stopped. No big drama but clearly my band is doing what it can to keep me out of trouble.

Today will be much more sensible. Protein first and no wine.

No regrets. But I'm really looking forward to having some of that braciole!

Well peeps, we got a fresh coating of snow and my lazy fat butt stayed in bed. I will probably e-kill it after church this afternoon. I did weigh in this morning. 269.8 so we will call it 270. Super stoked about this.

food plan:

B-2 egg omlet

L- turkey tenderloin.

D- I'm guessing chili from Wendy's

So how the heck do I lose 8 pounds in 2 days (Fluid, I know) and then stand still for 2 more days after? I am drinking a gallon of Water and eating extremely low carb - I know my calories are around 1,000-1,500.

Ugh! Frustration. Oh well, move on.

Going to watch a little tv, go to church, then come back and do some strenuous housework and walk the dogs.

food plan:

B - Bulletproof coffee

L - 2 eggs, 3 bacon

D - No Chop Chili

I may snack in between with half a Protein bar or SF Jello

@paragirl- my NP always said there is such a thing as too low on carbs, might want to ask. I've also been told by my new surgeon that drinking a gallon a day can cause stretching & reflux. He told me to go down to 64 oz so I don't stretch my pouch. I'm staying at 72 most days since 64 doesn't do it for me. I've learned that each doc is a little different, but you might want to ask Bagnato or his NP about it. Just my 2 cents....

I posted my plan for today last night and I'll stick to it. As I also previously posted, yesterday I did have a higher calorie day with a built-in treat. I did not post what it was because I do not want to cause anyone to stumble due to my mention of food porn. It happens. It happens to me. I agreed to post the good, bad, & ugly for the accountability, but I'll try to be sensitive and not give details.

My rings are tight today. Could I be retaining Water after a Water flush? Suggestions?

I love reading what you guys eat (on plan), how much you eat & drink, etc. It gives me a good idea of whether or not I'm working the plan to the best of my ability. Thank you for putting it out there! I've already made some changes with your suggestions and I appreciate it SO much!

Off to church with my little family and then home for a lazy afternoon. Hope you guys have a dandy day!

Yes Shannon, I thought about the Water today and will probably back down from that amount. I do sip it slowly and spread it out through the day.

I lost my 80 pounds doing ultra low carb, I try to stay under 30 and wanted to keep that up, however, I may be tweaking that.

I have been wanting to follow Carb Nite Solution diet, that is low carb and one "carb nite" per week. So far, I have been unsuccessful keeping cravings under control after a carb nite. Im still trying to figure things out.

Anyway, y'all have a great day and stay strong!

Dana

@@ParaGirl 30 carbs a day is pretty low. I love the idea of low carb, anyone who has ever had success with low carb loves. That said, it can be hard on your body over an extended period of time. If you have ever had any diabetic concerns (many of us has) be extremely careful and test blood sugar and ketones. High sugar with positive ketone readings means trouble.

For the first time in my life I am truly enjoying the taste of good natural sugars in apples and other fruits. Foods you are oble to have on low carb diets. I hope you don't see this as being critical, but I personally have gotten very sick by not monitoring while on low carb diets.

I understand your concern. That's one reason why I want to have the weekly carb nite, to refeed my body the carbs I don't eat the other 6 days of the week. My doctor keeps me in check.

My Water flush, and it differs for everyone, is increasing my intake for three days. Normally, I drink around 72 oz of Water. On flush days, I increase to 80, 96, 80 for the three days and then back to normal. I do it when I see I'm retaining water, usually after eating out, but not too often.

@@enjoythetime - you just did one too, how do you do it?

Eating was on track and good. Exercise was another 3 mile walk outdoors. It warmed up to around 35 and The roads cleared off good enough to walk. Did not do the elliptical. Kinda missin it, but I need to get used to some impact if I'm going to get the 5k in.

@@s_suther Pretty sure I may have said it before, but I will say it again. Thank you so much for starting this thread and for being so faithful in responding to every ones posts! I sincerely appreciate it!

I stayed on track with my eating plan today. I had 2 strips of bacon instead of the 3 planned. I am not hungry at all, and I know I am very low on calories today. I will mix up a Protein shake before bed!

I cut back on my Water today and no sodas for about 3 days now. I was having one coke zero a day, but this latest fill made it bubble up and I burped a lot.

Drinking coffee in the morning, Water all day, hot chai tea this evening.

I will figure out tomorrow's eating plan and either post tonight or tomorrow.

I am a teacher in an alternative school program - and Shannon, this is Dougherty Co., if you remember anything about DoCo, I'm sure you know I work in a stressful environment. This is when I tend to eat, I've been working on it and it's getting better.

@@ParaGirl - I taught at Merry Acres & Robert Cross before transferring to Lee. I get it! What a SMALL world!

@@bacon - I participated in a boot camp type board years ago. I would've gone back, but it's for a specific weight-loss program and I respect that. I was hoping to crank up the same supportive atmosphere on a thread here and I think we are doing just that. WE. I am so grateful for the support I'm getting here. I love the no excuses approach we're all adopting. It's certainly working for me and glad it is for you as well.

I ate OP today and drank 96 oz of Water (prior to 7:30pm to avoid reflux issue). Today: 654 c, 76 p, 22 nc.

Tomorrow's plan:

30 min am exercise, 3 mi pm walk

B-yogurt w/ granola & Fiber powder

L- Protein shake w/ Fiber powder

S- Protein Shake w/ fiber powder

D-4 oz pork chop, veg

697 c, 83 p, 38 nc

Hope you all have a swell evening and a fantastic Monday! I'll check in tomorrow to see how we all did over the weekend.

Whew. Ate a lot of food this weekend including Desserts and wine. I feel tempted to fast tomorrow just to cleanse and reset. I will aim for a Protein shake for Breakfast and some cheese and Buddig beef for lunch with Soup for dinner.

I could have taken advantage of the warm weather we had today to walk but I didn't. Feeling bloated and tired.

Okay enough whining! Tomorrow back to the stairs at work and the eating plan above.

Well Friday and today were on point Saturday well not so much. Got on the scale this morning which I shouldve known better and 6lbs up. What!?@?! 6lbs. Yes I know its Water weight there's no way to gain 6 actual lbs in one day UNLESS you eat bacon's fake out post,) Man, Im so mad at myself. So this morning I prepped and planned my meals for the week.

Roast carrots and onions

Homeade ranch dressing

Skinny chix casserole

salad

Ready to go for the week.

Waterflush will begin @@s_suther mine goes 88 96 88.

I'm so swelled from all of the sodium I consumed it hurts to make a fist.

Back on track and I keep telling myself yhats all that matters but what makes me so mad at myself is I work hard and do good all week and then the weekend comes and I blow it out of the Water and I start where I was at the beginning of the week before. Ugggh.

Oh well pulling it together, going to knock it out this week!!!

Pray that tomorrow the scale is a little kinder on me.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
