???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????

Recommended Posts

Ok is anyone else having their surgery in a surgery center? The doc office called today this is what I am to expect so far: surgery at the surgery center bc I am cash pay. It is joined to the hospital....I'll go home same day with a drain and return the next day for drain removal...everyone else I know has had it and stayed overnight....so now I am freaking out. I may cancel all together.

@@kaninag i'm cash pay and going home same day as well. my doctor likes to send everyone home the day of unless there are issues. he feels like keeping you in the hospital slows your recovery. i think we will be fine.

I called my Dr office yesterday to check on the status of the insurance approval to find out my surgery was approved and scheduled for March 5th and I had to start my Protein today. Thank God I called or else my 2week preop diet would be cut short. Can't wait

This is my first day as well I however did eat tonight since if I had not called my doctor I would not have known to start today. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm going all in. I've read that some pro op sleevers are able to consume sugar free and broths during this phase whereas my MD is requiring the Protein only. Is anyone straight protein and multi Vitamin?

I am a self pay as well and I am having my surgery done in a surgical center. However, I am staying two nights. I will leave with a drain and will have to return in 5 to 7 days post op to have the drain removed.

Mine will be done at a surgery center as well as an outpatient. My doc office does lap and and VSG on outpatient basis.

Hi guys! My pre-op starts today for two weeks. My doctor has us do 1,000 calories a day. No soda, no caffeine. I had my last McDonalds coke yesterday, that's always been my vice! So excited for this new beginning. I will start My Fitness Pal today to start logging my food and will get a FitBit. Surgery day is March 5th in Philadelphia. Good luck to us all! We are going to do great!!

Hello, my date is set for March 20th but can change, this is the date on the letter from my insurance. Talked to surgeons office and she stated it is just date they give the insurance, so it can change most likely in the first couple of weeks in March will be finished with this part of my journey.

Can't wait to see the rest of what happens next. Just went to Primary yesterday and got my clearance letter now just waiting or my surgeons office to contact me for my pre-op. Have a great support system at home and on this site too.

I'm on day 4 of my pre-op liquid diet. It's been okay so far. My office, which has been nothing but supportive, has had a lot of tempting foods around this week, but I've just been drinking my Water and eating Jello.

It's frigid here today, but I have sugar free popsicles in the freezer in case of emergency! LOL.

On the plus side, I've lost approximately 10 pounds since starting the all liquids phase, so that's definitely motivating.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
