Have you tried this broth?

Recommended Posts

I was getting the Thai ginger broth to see if I like it and I saw this too so I picked it us as well. You add 2 tbsp to 1 cup of Water for 15 calories.

Has anyone tried it before?

Can you take a picture of the ingredients? Did they have any vegetarian friendly flavors?

It comes in beef, chicken, and veggie.

Where did you find it?

I got it at Giant.

It makes 28 cups so I figured $4.50 wasn't too bad.

I know nothing about better than bullion. The only broth I've ever had plain was swanson chicken. I've cooked with their veggie broth. It's 15 cals 480 sodium

@@laurenella82 - Thanks. I might have problems with the maltodextrin. It's another artificial sugar.

Ok I've said it before that I'm not picky but I have tried ask the Swanson, Tuscan, Cajun, seafood, none of them can I stand. Don't know why, this pre op had got me all weird. Usually if I'm starving I can eat just about anything but not these!

Make your own. It's easy enough. For veg I roast vegetable in evoo for extra flavor then simmer on low until the veg is falling apart. Cool, drain the solids off (I save them a puree into a paste to use as a base for Soups later) For Beef, chicken, seafood. saute onions/garlic is a tiny bit of evoo, add meat/bones or seafood cover with Water and simmer until the meat is falling off the bone. Again drain off solids. You can add any seasons you want. Best yet,you control the amount of sodium. I usually end up with about 3 quarts so I freeze most of it to use as I need.

The Swanson Thai Ginger and Tuscan chicken broth taste great. The Swanson Louisiana Cajun and Mexican Tortilla broth flavors are quite spicy and sometimes burn your throat when you swallow. All four flavors are much better than plain broth. I bought some herb and garlic flavor enhancers to put in my regular chicken and beef broth.

I agree the Mexican tortilla was too spicy for me & I generally like spicy food.< /p>

I didn't see those when I went to the grocery store. I'll have to check Walmart and Whole Foods. They sound good!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
