My doctor doesn't require any liquid pre opt diet except for two days prior to surgery. But I'm gonna do one on my own. I'm also going to work out at the Y. It will help with the recovery time. Will be starting my diet Monday since my surgery date is Feb 9th. One minute I'm freaking out then the next nice calm. Hate feeling like this !

Hello! Just got my insurance approval yesterday, and my assumption is that I'll have a February date! Yippie!!!

I'm having RNY. I'm getting nervous, but I'm ready for this. My pre-op diet is two weeks liquid. --definitely jealous of those that get a small meal once a day.

I finally figured out my issue, my bloodsugar is crashing in thw late afternoon/early evening to the point I pass out. I'm not diabetic, but it was suspected I had low blood sugar, when I was in high school and college. Seems 20 yrs later that it's rearing an ugly head again. Last night I passed out for 3 hrs. Calling the surgeon means delaying surgery again. Maybe by the 2nd I will have adjusted to this. Husband said no more afternoon driving for me.

@@GAWildKat Check out hypoglycemia, you may have it. There was talk here last year about this subject and one of our Gastric Bypass buddies said he carries around with him glucose tablets. There's usually precursor symptoms but checking your blood sugar is a good idea to do. My sugar started to runs a little low after my RNY procedure and I now check mine. Best of luck to you.

Congrats on the approval and wow my process to getting a surgery date took soooo much longer. I am so happy I get a small meal. Just liquids for two weeks, YIKES! but I have seen posts from many that have done it. All part of our new life and I finally see a light at the end of tunnel, have not felt that way for a long time. I so appreciate all the posts it I a really helping me to know others are in my position. How I can be so excited for something and still so anxious (scared half to death) about the process. Keep us updated when you get a for sure date :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
