Hi this is my first post. I had my surgery Nov. 18 and in first several weeks lost 20 pounds. Now my weight seems stuck. I am sticking to the eating plan and walking. What could I be doing wrong? How do I get the weight loss going again?

Your not doing Anything wrong you probably just hit a plateau. It should pass, just stick with your plan! Good luck! As far as tips some people claim upping the calories can help break a stall. I can't say that for a positive because I haven't experienced it.

I actually gained 4 pounds between Oct & Nov check in appts. Amazingly enough from Nov to Dec visit I lost 14 lbs of fat. My body is doing its own thing at this point. The only thing that changed was me adding some Fiber ie bran, organic prune juice and organic applesauce. I know it's possibly TMI but Constipation happens sometimes with high Protein diets. I've added 2 ozs of the above described mixture every 2-3 days and I feel marvelous and no more bloating etc.

Hi there and congratulations on your surgery! Don't despair -- you are doing beautifully. I am a bander but we are all the same, really. Just stay present and remember to pat yourself on the back for choosing yourself and your healthy future first. That scale will budge but don't be overly concerned -- you've done the hardest part already. Rock on!

It i the dreaded stall. Stop making yourself crazy and step away from the scale. Look for other NSV (non scale victories). It could be taking your measurements (neck, boobs, waist, thighs/hips) and measuring the differences. It could be noting the changes in your body; can you walk further? It it easier? Do you have more range of motion in your knees?, etc....

Throughout your weight loss journey there will be stops and starts as your body adjust to the changes you are making. Do not let them frustrate you. As long as you are following the program, the weight will come off.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
