The elephant sitting on my chest

I'm 10 days out from surgery and have been doing pretty good until yesterday. I took an extremely small bite of yogurt and thought I was going to die. I had the worst pain in my chest, like an elephant was sitting on me. Now, almost everything I try to get down puts me in pain. I did manage to get a Protein shake down this morning, but it was still slightly painful. Any ideas what I've done?

I had terrible pains when I ate yogurt too. chicken, eggs, milk... all caused a lot of pain and discomfort for months post-op. Hang in there, it will get better. It just takes time for your new stomach to adapt to food again.

I ate Cream of Mushroom Soup for about a month, then moved onto refried Beans and finely chopped turkey hamburger. They were my friends for weeks and weeks. B)

Being you were getting the "elephant" feeling in your chest, I would recommend contacting your doctor ASAP and let them decide if it were the food or something may be going on that you cannot see.
