Does anyone else have some sort of anxiety over this? I am so happy that I'm doing it. But then I ask myself, did I really do everything I could before going forward with surgery? I know I did, but why am I questioning myself over and over again!?

Because it's a huge life decision. If you have come this far you have throught through it all, You can do this, it IS so worth it.

I think most people do that, it's fear of the unknown. Try not to stress and have confidence in yourself that your making the right decision.

Do some meditation on positive thoughts and your life one year from now. Use all that energy and put it to good use. Not sleeping will only make things worse. Take a nice, long hot bath and pamper yourself. Give yourself all the good things you deserve. You will be just fine :)

Everyday I ask myself this question and I come to the same answer. Yes I did everything I could. I went through all the right steps and didn't see the results I need to continue so this is the right step. You should question yourself time to time on things of this nature it is only nature and think about it is surgery its life changing not something to be taken so lightly. I know this is the right thing for me and if you have come to this point then I'm sure it is the right thing for you! Good luck in your journey and I wish you all the success you deserve!

I had kind of a meltdown a few days before my surgery, even though I had been looking forward to it for over a year, planning for it, taking care of all of the insurance requirements, and attending support group meetings every month. Strangely enough, my biggest fear was how I would deal with the liquid diet that seems to go on forever, and not being able to use food to soothe myself. Now that I am 18 days postop, I realize that the liquid diet is a real challenge for me (though some sail through it just fine), but having my weight drop has boosted my mood so much that I've stopped caring about it. You got some good advice above - take time to think and remember and visualize all the reasons you chose this path, get a massage and a manicure, or do some things that help you slow down and feel more peaceful - they really help.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
