I was banded on the 14th and I am now officially on the road again with my spinning/cycling class at the gym. I started back Monday, so refreshing and energizing. I was like a mad woman getting revenge on fat. I am thinking about joining a outdoor cycling group or something, I have never done that.

Hia Trell!

Cycling is great. Spinning is a fantastic way to get in shape and burn those calories too.

Do you have a bike? Do you know other cyclists? What's your biking experience? We are all cycling junkies here, so tell us, we want to know!

BG - I know I've heard y'all talking about it before, and shame on me for not taking you seriously...but how could I, gorgeous? What the heck kind of PS could you possibly need? Are you for real here? :confused2:

On that note...I am slowly wearing hubby down regarding the boob job. It is starting to look promising! I'm not one to ever let ANYONE dictate what is right for me, but this kind of thing really freaks him out. He still hates my band. I am so psyched that I may get PS myself!

BG is getting butt inplants. How did you miss that???

I'll let her tell you about her PS, I am going to need a complete body lift. My heaviest weight was nearly 350 pounds, and I'm 5'2", so imagine how much stretching my skin had to do to cover all that.

I get wanting your Husband's support about altering your body, but it is YOUR body after all...I'm sure he thinks you are perfect and doesn't want to risk losing you for some vanity thing...but it's more than vanity. It's about being happy in your body.

Anyway....I'm hoping around this time next year to be waiting out my insurance so I can get my surgeries (YIKES 3!) in the summer and fall.

Butt implants! Hey, that's a real thing, isn't it? And you are kidding? LOL Okay, BG...fess up, chica, if you are comfortable. (Who am I talking to?!?!?)

J - I don't know what a full body lift is, but it sounds scary and wonderful all at the same time!

Yeah, you are right on about the hubby thing. I know in my heart that I will get this, but it's an important "tactical" move to have him supporting the process. I'm just wearing him down. Poor guy...he's so good to me, but it does require a certain finesse on my part at times! At the end of the day, I'm just not happy with "my girls". AT ALL. In fact, I'm down right embarrassed in certain circumstances...I'm sure you get my drift. I just have to be patient. Once he gets his new Harley, which should be very soon, I will unleash my best tactics at pushing this along! LOL

A full body lift is essentially a seam around ones middle, like a belt and they pull from above and below. God that sounds aweful.

Typically one would have their arms and boobs done

Then pannis and mons lift

Then the back, ass, etc. That one is iffy on me. (I want butt inplants actually, because I have a pancake ass, but that's a whole nother story like you, your boobs and DH. The GF needs convinced and she thinks I'm mocking black cluture.)

I'll also need my inner thighs done.

I'm going to look like Frankin Hooker by the time it's all done. Now tell me you've seen Frankin Hooker...we are the same age, you have no excuse...

Okay...I have but one word...WOW! You are going to have all that done? That is incredible!

I know I could look it up, but it's just easier to ask now...what is a panni and what is a mons and why would they need lifting? I have no clue, but somehow I think that was a dumb question...oh well.

Oh I don't think that would be mocking black culture! I had a bubble-butt all my life until I lost all this weight. (I always loved my butt, no matter what size I was!) Now I have a "normal" butt...if there really is such a thing...and I love it still...just differently. It's a lot easier to fit into clothes now, though.

I have no clue what Frankin Hooker is, either! But something tells me that my imagination is correct, and I am going to go look it up right now! LOL

If I win the lotter I will be getting a lower body lift. Since I won't win I will be getting an abdominoplasty. My insurance will cover a panniculectomy and I will upgrade it to the full TT for an extra $1500. Sometimes working at a hospital pays off.

LOL You guys are too funny! I've got a bubble-butt too. I have always had curves. I know I'll need some work done after this is all over, but I'm ready! I want it all...anything that will make ME look and feel better about my self and in my own skin!

BG and J- You two are so close to PS...how exciting!

TX- You are so cute! :)

I'm logged in for my class stuff but we have a minute to go.

Nervous energy.

Frankin Hooker was a campy movie from the 80's

A pannis is what you get from too many paninis...It's redundant tummy skin, or nicely called the apron o' skin.

The mons gets fatty when you are SMO so it's gets all stretched out too. OH LA LA...sexy fine.

on to school work!!!!!!!!

I'm totally gettting a LBL!! Have ya'll seen Puddin's LBL thread?!?! She is amazing, started at a size 28 and is now a size 6. (http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f12/lower-body-lift-fun-28009/) She is completely my inspiration.

I'll also need to be sure I get my arms done, boobs (I'm actually thinking I can get these donw maybe next spring/summer even if I"m not completely at goal - I HATE my arms and boobs!!!) And I need inner thighs done, they are already sagging badly.... butt implant would be heavenly! - but everyone in my family has a flat butt, so oh well.

Mons is a MUST! LosingJusMe said in her thread that sex was just so much better, the sensations were stronger, once she got her extended TT and mons lift!

As for the ride in June - there is NO way I'll be able to make it. Blame Georgie Bush... gas is just too much, which has increased the prices of everything else. Now... the ride in Sept though, I might be able to make that one! I'll have to let you know once it gets closer though... and I'll even go ahead and request the days off work. We'll just have to wait and see for sure.

My mons is not so bad luckily. But I will probably have to live with a bit of a FUPA for the rest of my life. I can deal with that.

I would love, lvoe, love a LBL but there is no way I am willing to pay that kind of money for it.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
