Way to go BG! It is definitely a different ride, but you'll get used to it in no time! Dont' let the skinny tires fool ya...they're quite capable of making sharp turns! (Think Tour de France!)

I am so glad you got a ride in. Was planning one myself today after work, but.....husband had to pick up son (and he has the truck) so, I guess I will not get one in after all. We are supposed to get heavy rains the next few days.....I am soooo tired of driving around...all the roads leading to my home are flooded...so we have to Detour just to get too work. our 40 min drive is now over 1 hour 10-15 min...depending on who drives....HA-HA

Well....glad you got too ride......you will get use to the tires....unclipping sure does take some practice doesnt it?????

BG!!! Awesome!

I got out today too! I only fell one time. Yeah, I was trying not to unclip at a light, like I know we'll start moving before I fall over...not so.

For those who are counting that is fall number 3. The last one was on Sunday in the parking lot after a 25 mile ride. WTF? I was looking at people while slowing down. guess I was stopped before I knew it I was on the ground.

Today's fall is by far the least painful. UGH.

J that is too funny. I was so close to falling on the wet grass earlier. Big Sexy just got stuck in the mud lol. I freaked out but managed to unclip in time.

I am not going to lie, I am slightly nervous about the 50/60 miler. Yeah I know, stop being a whiney candy ass.

You know, if the morning of you feel like you really can't do it we can opt for the 30 miler.

Hehehehe

Back of SAG wagon...I hear you sister. I really feel like we'll be able to do it. We might be wiped out for the rest of the day, but we'll get it done.

Right?!

J and BG...Y'all crack me up! You sound just like me! The only way I admit defeat in such matters is 1)when I completely lose consciousness while trying or 2)in the event of my own death!

I am excited as hell, but I am also so freaked out about doing the MS150! It's not the 150 miles that freaks me out...it's thinking of riding DAY TWO's 75 miles after my ass has all night to get good and sore after DAY ONE's 75 miles! I think it would be much easier to do 150 in one whack! But I invested heavily in a pair of the best Pearl Izumi cycling shorts that I hope will keep that from happening! The guy at the shop said that Pearl backs them up and to bring them back if they don't perform to my satisfaction. Here's hoping!

Eh...you're right...you two are a couple of tough broads and you will do just great! Make sure you take pics along the way for us! I'll be taking pics this Saturday during Tour Dallas so I can post them here.

TX I have been thinking the same thing about my week long trip. Not only do I get 50 miles per day but then I get to sleep on an air matress in a tent lol.

You are going to do great you sexy mama.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
