No you didn't! Yes you DID!!!! You go girl. It whispered your name and you got it! Oh, I'm so happy for you!

Good news on the fill too. Were they able to do it without flouro? Or were you poked a million times with it?!

Congratulations on the new baby.

Just a comment, because I can't seem to leave this freaking site alone........

Do you realize how active this thread is compared to all the other exercise threads? It's freaking insane.

I heart us.

YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN SMOKIN THE TREAD TODAY THAT IS FOR SURE.

I hadnt checked it since 1040am, and there were 3 more pages...LOL

Yea, J.....It was kinda awesome...I was a little uneasy about the fact it was a FX which they call a High Performance Hybrid...but he promised me that all it did was add the different style handelbars, and he told me If I wasnt comfortable on the road bike, I wouldnt ride it, and this is still a road bike, but just with the MB handelbars.

So.......

I cant wait....I am so excited......

My DH may actually be getting the Speciliazed....not sure..well, I have to get to bed...

Nite everyone

How cool y'all met up for a ride! I'm jealous!

B - Well, I hate to see ya go, but I'm glad you two are going to be where you want to be right now. I'm also glad the decision is that much closer to "done" for you. The rest will fall in your lap when it's time. In the meantime, you better get your house on the market. I have three that have been on the market since summer...one of them since June! There is about a ten-month backlog of homes for sale in DFW right now...terrible. I will hold down the fort here until you realize you can't live without "BIG D" any longer!

J - OOO-OOO...gonna have to google me some Gantt!

Nite, y'all...this chickie is wupped and sore from the gym! See ya tomorrow!

Isn't it funny that when something is in reach we just want to get it sooner!!!!!!!! HP and her new bike, me and my bodybugg.

Other question about the BB, is the software web based or is it software that you download to only one computer?

Cool because I want to log stuff in while at work. It's basically the state's computer but I can put stuff on it, short of porn...or at least I think I can. I have friends in IT who will do Admin password if I bake the cookies...(and explain what I want to download if they deem it safe...we aren't too strict around here.)

TX - Thanks - I'm glad that some things are kind of settled. We at least know that we want to move back to Boston for now. But, to paraphrase the last stanza of the old Mac Davis song, "Happiness is [Fort Worth], Texas growing nearer and nearer," so I'm sure we'll be back someday. Very nervous about selling the house, but we don't live in a regular subdivision, so it will either be easier or harder than average. Our neighbor is a RE agent, so we're going to sit down with her when we get home. Most of the jobs that I'm looking at will offer some relo assistance, so if the agent's commission is included, we can sell for less than we paid, if necessary, and still walk away with some money.

HP - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I would be so dying to just pay it off & ride. It's hard to have fiscal discipline sometimes. You'll get your bike soon enough and when you do, you'll be riding with a big ol' smile!

J - Thanks for the rockstar! I'm so about to break down and buy the bodybugg, too! I was planning on getting a Heart Rate Monitor, but I might go BB instead - I like the graphs and charts!

Alright, off to go drive by some houses here that we might be able to afford - it's sad that a 1200 sq foot house here costs 2-2.5x as much as our McMansion on a heavily wooded acre in dallas costs. On the other hand, these 1200 sq foot houses have 10-20x as much character as ours....

Have a great day, everybody!

B

B

Small house = better house. I think. Less to clean, less to heat, less to leave an environmental footprint.

And being a girl who cooks, a smaller kitchen is better (if it's big enough and well laid out) than a huge ass kitchen where you have to walk 15 feet to get a something turn around and walk another 10...blah, blah, blah....

I have a tiny house which fits me and my daughter perfectly. I'd be happy with something newer and not falling apart, but I love my little house. 1150 square feet, little!

Ok, I don't pretend to understand all the business stuff that you guys talk about, because, I DON'T. BUT, I do understand something. You are all getting BB and now I want one. I don't want it to be something that is exciting for a few weeks or months and then I don't use anymore though. I like to track some stuff but when it has to be done every single day and all the time I get tired of it and I stop, that is why I don't track my food. I get tired of it. So, I don't know if the BB would be a good thing for me or not?

I have 1300 square feet and wish I had more room. I also have myself, 2 adult kids, and two child kids. And my kitchen is tiny. I wish I had one of those big kitchens Juli.

If you know you would get sick of it then don't get one D. It is a pain to log stuff but i think it will be worth it if I can get myself out of this rut I am in.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
