BariatricMexico.com, Obesity Goodbye Center, Dr. Sergio Verboonen

I'm thinking about booking with Dr. Sergio Verboonen. Has anyone had any experiences with them?

I didn't have surgery with him, but I found an article that was written in the San Diego news paper that said he was investigated by the FBI, arrested and convicted along with 5 other doctors for international insurance fraud. I also saw some other post where they said he was using non-FDA approved lapbands on people. Whoever you decided on just make sure you do good research, surgery is no joke, and you want to be confident in your decision, and well informed.

Here are some articles that I have written to help newbies do better research, hopefully they will help you out, and if you have any questions feel free to ask...sometimes I write a little techy, and its not always easy to understand, but I would be happy to clarify if you don't understand something. Good luck on your journey:

Hope this helps you out some!

Do you mind me asking who did your procedure and where at?

I'm sorry but you are wrong and are way off base in your posts here. $4,500 for a gastric sleeve is not ridiculously cheap. It is a good going rate among most doctors in Mexico. You need to realize that there is a reason why people go to Mexico and that reason is that it's at least half that or more than it is in the U.S. for this surgery. If they increased the prices then there would be no motivation to go to Mexico and people would stay in the U.S. to have their surgeries.

I went to Dr Verboonen, I was very aware of his issues in the past. Everyone has done something they regret. I think Dr Verboonen is a wonderful Dr and am so thankful I found him.
