Weird? Maybe. But it does point a giant red arrow at a possible eating disorder. Consider counseling.

I understand the temptation. While I was still at the stage where you are, I think I missed flavors and chewing more than I missed actually having something in my stomach. This part of the process is a right of passage and will be over soon enough. Resist and resist some more. Walk away from the food if you have to. If you were to accidently swallow whole foods at this point, bits could get caught up in your staples and create a whole 'nother problem you don't want. Walk away from the pizza. Hang in there.

That's how bulimics get started . . . it also messes up your metabolism and blood sugar to chew up food and then spit it out. This is a great time for you to be learning ways to get those good feelings without any involvement from food whatsoever. If people are bringing pizza or other tempting foods around you, consider asking them to stop or removing yourself from the situation if you can. Good luck!

I agree. It is a huge red flag of an eating disorder. I just recently got to the point where I can openly admit I have an eating disorder and it's been a huge step in my recovery. I definitely recommend working with an eating disorder therapist and starting early in the process. It has made all the difference for me. Good luck!

@@DBLPattyMELT7am Lol! You won't die but cut that crap out!! when you CAN have pizza find a good healthy low carb version! You don't have to deprive yourself you have to "adjust" yourself that oil in the pizza is yuck on your belly!!! You spit but you still got some!

Oooh I never realized how much I will miss food while I journey through the liquid stage. I understand the temptation and how good it sounds . However, you have to be strong and resist the temptation. Find a way to talk yourself through it and keep telling yourself this is for your health and the well being of your stomach . Hang in there! pizza will eventually be allowed again after we heal! Stay strong!

I can't believe people are suggesting you to get counseling, that is hilarious. Real quick to diagnose someone. Sheesh.... I think the girl was craving pizza and did the right thing instead of SWALLOWING it, just chewed it and spit it out. I remember when I was 10 days post op, I wanted anything and everything. When I was not eating food during the first few weeks, all I could think about was food. I was miserable. You will be so happy when you can have soft food. Try the Ricotta Bake. It is amazing and satisfies my pizza cravings and i LOVE pizza! Just try to fight off those urges and take each day at a time. That's what I kept telling myself, one day at a time. Now, if you really like to torture yourself like I did, I would go on pinterest and different blogs looking for recipes to try when I got to solids. It was like food porn for me. Lol But now I have lots of recipes bookmarked and excited to try! The time will fly by and before you know it, you'll be at Solid Foods! Hang in there!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
