Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

I just found out my surgery will be in July (granted my pre-op testing goes okay) SOOOOOOOOO

Here's a thread for everyone getting banded in July 07!

Does anyone have any good ideas for a neat name we could call ourselves?

well I just make the chicken broccoli casserole. Jeez, it made a ton. I hope there is some left over for me to freeze. This will be great for the next step in my diet.

Now on to make the dessert.

I must admit, I licked my fingers after I spread all that chicken and broccoli and sauce throughout the pan . Boy was it good.

Sunny - I hear ya.....I always feel like I'm licking my fingers from whatever I cook.......I can hardly wait until I get something other than liquid.......I want to chew!!! lol

for everyone who's on liquids or mushies, hang in there. You can do it. I know it's hard but if you can make it through this stage, the rest of the weight loss will seem easy b/c you can always look back at this time and know inside that you can do anything.

Oh, my!! That sounds good, too. I bet I could eat that if I put it in my Magic Bullet!! DH made Impossible Quiche today and that blended nicely. Tonight I made baby food out of a couple small pieces of BBQ ribs, spoon full of mashed potatoes and a spoon full of canned green beans, french style. Used a little of the BBQ sauce for liquid. Blended up nicely and came to just 1/2 cup. It was yummy. They were leftovers donated by our daughter. I'm liking this mushy phase!!

Hi Everyone. I had a great trip to Port Huron today. Except for the 3 hour wait at the border :cry. The traffic stopped about 7 km from the bridge, and cars were parked forever. Most of us were getting out and socializing while we waited.

We finally got through customs around 6pm. :) We did a little shopping for the kids and then went to Olive Garden. I'm still on liquids, but I remember someone saying "as long as I can sip it through a straw, its a liquid". So I had a frozen drink... yummy! And I asked them if they could puree the minestroni soup for me, which they were happy to do. So I had a great meal.

I love Olive Garden. We used to have them in Canada, but they closed up in the mid 1990's. So whenever we go over the border for shopping, we go there for dinner. MMMMM

Jeanie, I'm sorry I missed you. But really glad to hear from you. I hope your daughter heals up quickly.

Hi all,

I can't tell you how shocked I am, I've away just for yesterday, and there is A LOT of replies...

I don't know if I should envy any of you, I am still on liquids, I am surviving, I take very liquidy soups... yesterday only once...

Our real day off is Friday here, and my falks always come for lunch which is the main meal here. I did perfect, they had Itlain food, several kinds... believe me... veeeeeeeery delicious, but I did well, had vegetable soup, hand mixed it and had some, I was ok...

I don't know if I mentioned how much I keep telling my friends about all of you.. yesterday we had over my DH friends for card game night.. they are all doctors... they made me feel good, and my surgeon was one of them, he checked on me and everything looked wonderful except for a one stitch (inner one) on the port side.. he took it off. He was happy that I got off the neck-shoulder pain.....

For those who may get banded... it was horrible, but with the support of all my friends at here at lucky 07 banderster... it made me feel great and that this is normal... :)

I want to try the broccli and chesse soup, I guess I have to move to the thread and take the ingrediants....

Thanks again to all of you out there for all of your support and help...

It is now 9:20 am, and in Syria this is the first day of the week, I have to start my work, I need to enter more that 2000 records to a database that I supervise at the ALC (American Language Center) here in Damascus, thank God I do this at home... and don't have to leave the house for this...... till I finish and need to print...

I have two jobs... this one.. which is a part time and do most of he work home, and I work in a privat school as the Computer Director... Thank God again... school won't be on till 10 days more...

Hope to hear from all of you... I need to go back to my records.. :angry and then keep up with all the pain from typing this much data...:ranger:

by the way.... I have been wondering if anybody can advise me of what steps should all of us go through to avoid a surgery after a year or two and after we lose all this weight.... I personally don't want to do any reconstructive surgery.... :help: pls. help, espcially that I had 3 C-sections...

bye for now...

I am sure this is very difficult, but seems to be what needs to be done at this point! I am glad you and Adam are both looking out for Annafrancesca! You are wonderful parents, some parents get caught up in there despise for one another and just expect the child to deal with it!!! I am soooo glad to hear that isn't what the two of you are doing!!! Please let me know if I can help in any way! Thinking of you and praying all goes as it should be (I started praying this way a while back ... I really don't know sometimes what is in everyone's best interest, so I just pray that the Lord leads the people I care about in the right directions!) Wishing the best always! :)

Kathy, I am sooo glad you had a nice time! I think you make the most of everything! Nicole is doing better! Thanks for asking, she needs to return to work tomorrow so I am thankful, she is feeling better! Still sore with the stitches and all, but I guess that is to be expected! She will need to drive back to her apartment this evening.

I would have never in a million years thought to ask them to puree my food! Awesome!!! I never had the minestrone soup, but have the Zuppa Tuscano many times and love it!!! I also love their bread sticks and alfredo sauce, but guess I won't be having that anytime soon!!! Oh well, it is well worth it!!! I think, lol!!!:D

Yeah! Good thing there's an Albertson's across the street. May have to persuade my DH that he needs to go for a walk!!

I hear you Phyllser, I bought a watermelon, gonna have it later today! LOL

Lots to catch up on! I am having a very lazy weekend, went to the movies yesterday and going again today with a different group of girlfriends. I told my friends yesterday and they were very surprised, but supportive. They did not know anything about WLS or LB so they asked a ton of questions I was happy to answer. Today I am going to see the Bourne Ultimatum and my friends already know.

Hope everybody has a great day.

I woke up feeling FANTASTIC this morning. Last night was the first time since surgery that hubby and I had fun in the bedroom. It was unbelievable! At times I could feel my port, but not to the point of pain. We were both a little apprehensive, but I tell you, I had an itch that needed scratching and I was going to get it scratched!!! Probably too much info. :eyebrows: I'll be walking on air all day today, lol.

I got on the scales this morning and I'm down 10lbs since surgery on the 26th. YAY! I gained 5 extra immediately post op, but lost it in a couple of days so didn't take that into consideration in my total weight loss.

I get a little hungry on occasions, but I think a good deal of that is just to get the taste in my mouth and I'd be satisfied. Once I'm on full foods I expect (hope and pray :)) that that's what it'll be like all the time. It is SOOOOOOOO freeing not to be constantly hungry and thinking about all the bad foods I'd love to stuff in my mouth to satisfy those hunger pains. I feel so blessed that I've got this opportunity to use such a wonderful tool to help me win this battle against obesity!

It could simply be the fact that I had such a wonderful evening that I'm in such a good mood today, but why question it, right? :biggrin1: I'm loving this new me that is appearing as the pounds fall away! :bounce:
