Yesterday food, I was at a GF 65th B day party, so I had a piece of cake... and 1 glass of wine... jeez it adds up eh?

Today 960 so far, but I went to the gym tonight AFTER work and I did 18 min mile on the treadmill, and WEIGHTS, and the recumbent bike for 15 mins to cool down... so I have done my penance.

I am going to MEXICO Saturday to see my sister and BIL... plus I am getting my Dental work done there 4 veneers on my front teeth... less than 1/2 the price of my dentist here in Canada... He wanted $4000!!!

Hubby is not too happy, he hasn't said anything but I can sorta tell when he "gets quiet"... ya know???

Steph- Hope you're feeling better

I got up, went to school, ran home, took Mom to the physician center. The diabetic dr was not there, he is across the river today. They neglected to tell me that on Fri when he said bring her in. So I went down the hall to her primary. She wasn't in, so I left a note about symptoms. I went pay DS registration 850 bucks.

Went back to school, which did I ever mention I HATE MY FREAKIN JOB!

Anyway, the dr. didn't call back till 2. She says her bloodwork shows she has a bladder infection, but I need you to go do a culture test before I prescribe an antibiotic. Can you go now?

NO, I had a PS appt. at 3 that I made 6 mts ago.

So I had to go to the PS alone cause DH was out of time covering someone who is sick. So I took a Xanex on the way, and I was fine. He had to cut off dogears on both boobies in the cleavage area. That's a little pleat on the end of the scar. I made them cover my eyes, and when they took off the towel there was little hunks of flesh on the towel on my chest. GROSS, I still didn't get sick. I am sooooo proud of myself, or xanax really works. Whatever

So now tomorrow, I will have to leave work again to go bring her get another test. This is tough!!!!!!

I guess I'll bring her at around 2, then run back to school, drop her off at her hair appt. if she's up to it. She needs it bad, it took 1 mt to get the appt. I have detention tomorrow afternoon, so I have to go back to work.

I think I'm going take a bath and go to bed early, the hell with the homework.

Hi ladies. I tried to get on earlier and couldn't. Now I have a chance to catch you up.

Karri, 30 bucks is a small price to pay to give you some break from the real world.

I got ahold of an orthopedic dr office this morning. After one said they would get me in NEXT Thursday I called a second. They were going to try to put me off until Thursday until I explained to the woman (with tears) that I was really scared to wait that long. Problem was of the 2 docs in that office, 1 needed a referal from my regular doc and the other insists on an MRI before he will see one. I just broke down. Then I explained how quickly my symptoms are progressing and she went to talk to her doc. He said I could come in tomorrow and we will do the MRI on Wed. as soon as there is an opening.

Well today was a much worse pain day. Finally tonight my bro brought me som oxycodone and a walker. If I bend over at the waist so that I'm leaning my elbows on the walker, I can walk pretty comfortably.

My mom and my brother are going to go to Great Falls tomorrow with me. Mom and the kids will stay with me while my bro comes back to Lincoln. Then, depending on when I have my follow up, he will come back down to go through that process with me. I'm actually really hoping that the guy realizes that an MRI is not needed before he can do something for the pain.

Okay...drugs are kicking in and I really haven't slept well for 4 nights now so hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight.

don't worry about me ladies. I will be okay. I'm getting answers tomorrow. I will let you know what the doc says. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. I love you all.

Oh Denise; I am glad your Mom is getting looked after.. you are a GOOD daughter! Your "adjustment" to you boob job sounds painful? Was it? Good for you to not faint, I don't think I'd want to be awake for that!

O.k. Stephanie, so glad you are getting looked at today. Take the MRI even if its uncomfortable laying there still... it will give them precise information and make it easier to diagnose your problem. You are so lucky to get an MRI that fast.... and an appt with a specialist... Good for you CRYING on the phone, don't be embarrassed it was just what you needed to do to get ACTION.

Remember that the walker is only temporary o.k.???

You have good care with your Mom and Bro there..that's great.

Hang in there babe

Love C

Hi guys....going to cut and paste my day here. Then I'm going to log off cuz the drugs are kicking in. After a short nap I'll check back in.....

Doc appointment was not great. I got what I wanted, which was someone to treat me like I knew what I was talking about. He did xrays and then ordered an MRI. Problem when I went to lay on the MRI table, I couldn't lay in that position. He gave me some steroids and some other pills along with some really strong pain meds. I have another MRI scheduled tomorrow morning. If we can't do it that way, we will have to do a mylogram(sp) and a ct scan. Those are quicker but 1. the mylo side effects are hellacious and 2. they don't show the details as well.

What he says he saw from the xrays is that I have degeneration in my L3, L4, L5, and S1 vertebras. That's a lot more trouble than just 1 ruptured disc. He's not very optimistic that I'll ever be pain free. That's a little disconcerting, but I'm trying to stay optimistic. When I see him tomorrow after the test I'm going to advocate for surgery I think. I don't want to fiddle fart around with this for another month. It might kill me.

So I'll let you know when I know. For now, it's just frustating.

I'll try to spend more time here later. Thanks for all the well wishes. Oh...and Phyl, I got to ride a scooter around Walmart and Sams. LOVED IT!!!

So sorry!

No, I wasn't being mean... just thought those of you in cold country might like some encouragement that warmer weather is coming your way, too! Honest!

Glad for the update and hope things go better for you in the morning and that you can withstand the MRI.

I am not having a very good day. Tight this morning and very uncomfortable until noon time. Then we had appreciatio (free) lunch put on by park staff... so I had 1/2 sloppy joe and a little potato salad. That went okay. Then DH BBQd a couple of skinless, boneless chicken thighs for dinner. I had a small one. Shortly afterwards started feeling really miserable and eventually much of it came up. Then I was okay for a while, now... feeling miserable again and not sure the rest is going to stay down. Fluid intake not good today... couldn't even drink a good part of the day. Red Hat ladies' picnic tomorrow at noontime, but I'm not sure I'm going to go. Don't know if I can face another food function.

OH... I got in some shopping today while DH was at the dentist... went to Kohl's. I found a pair of capri's I really liked. And a cute top... size 16/18! That was exciting.. Then went to Wal-Mart. Another Red Hat thing this weekend...

PJ party.. so I wanted some silly pj pants.

Again... size 16/18.. in PANTS!

So I was a happy camper!

Good Morning Gang

I was busy with my desk yesterday - and last night had to bake Andrew's 18th Bday cake for today and made his fav dinner last night cuz he's going to dinner w/his Mom tonite..

Ladies - I can't beleive 18 yrs has gone by so quickly - he use to be my sweet baby now he's my mostly sweet semi adult....

Steph Hugs I wish I was there to help you - don't know how I would - but I am with you in spirt for moral support...

Karri - Sending sun shine your way - Indio yesterday was 90 had to turn on AC when I went to bed..

Denise - Hugs with the Mom issues and having to run to the doc everyother day - I don't understand why they don't understand that we work too our time is valuable too and we need to get things done now... Don't they understand that sometime the world does need to revolve around us...

Yep Zanxa is a great drug - I don't have a script - but GF does and after my Bro died - they were a big help... Don't think I would want a script for them - could get addicted.. Don't want to feel - take a Zanxz...

Phyl - I think you need to adjust to this new restriction - I don't think you are use to it yet and again some days we are tighter than others..

CONGRATS on the 16's WTG !!!! Go to your Red Hat function - remember it's not all about the food but friendships... Push your food around your plate - take tiny tiny bite...

Ok I gotta get to work - TTYL

Hugs

Phyl!!!! What awesome news. you've come a long ways baby! Another couple sizes and you'll be out of the "women's" section. That was such an amazing feeling when I could finally walk into a store and there were clothes on the rack that fit me.

Okay....I DID IT!!! My MRI was great. Doc will see me 11 to discuss what he sees and treatment options. I'm going to bring up the fact that I have a serious commintment in Septemeber and I need to start training now. Maybe that will help him see surgery now rater than laater. We will see.

Okay...going to go sleep on the valium. Love you ladies!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
