Eastern Shore Sleeve 2014-2015

Recommended Posts

I live in Berlin, MD. I will be having my sleeve done at John Hopkins Bayview. Hopefully it will be in December. I am just finishing up all my insurance requirements. I will be all done November 21, then I wait. I know people have had lap band done, but don't hear of many having the sleeve done, and looking for some local support.

I am from Hagerstown MD and got a phone call from my surgeon yesterday whom left a voice mail...... I was finished on Oct 23 and they said it would take 4-6 weeks for them to submit insurance and schedule. the date would be January/February of 2015 with the surgeon schedule.... HOWEVER I am to call back today and see whats going on. they said the had some surgery openings in Harrisburg PA (1 hour away, their home offices) for DECEMBER. So hoping that means I have been approved. We are getting married in OC on the beach in April so wanted to be able to look and feel awesome for this occasion. I do know of 1 person that has had the surgery and have several patients (I work in a lab) that have had it done. I have not heard one complaint about it. Keep in touch

Hey Harley congratulations. I know you were hoping the get an earlier date!

Datuh, you hit the jackpot in sleevers here. I go in 5 days and a wakeup. There are many many others on here in every different stage. You should find all the information you want and if not, just ask. Have a wonderful journey!

Great! I was at John Hopkins today to do my psych evaluation, and yes she is recommending me for the surgery! I also met with the dietician there and did my class. Now I just got to wait till next Friday for last nutrition apt, and then I can be submitted for approval!!! I cant wait.

I am in Anne Arundel County. I just had it done Monday (four days ago). This is my second day at home and it's going well. Don't worry. You'll do great!

It would be great to offer each other support (and anyone else in our state/area).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
