Weird symptoms after band removal

Hello everyone... I have not really spent much time here, but I am having some odd symptoms since my band removal and I am wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. I got my band back in 2006 and had pretty good success for about 6 years. I had a stress induced heart attack in 2011 and the medication they put me on, really slowed me down, literally!!!

So, in March of 2014, I ended up with severe food poisioning. Vomiting like I have never before...couldnt keep food or Water down. I assumed it was just a holdover from the food poisoning. After 4 days of not even keeping water down, I went to my bariatric surgeon. Said, something is not right!! He told me, chances were that the vomiting had created a vacuum and sucked my lower stomach up into my band, blocking food and water. Said it HAD to come out, IMMEDIATELLY!!. All good, surgery went well.

After about a month, I started having some odd symptoms.

#1 I developed a swallow Vasovagal syncope.. I have had about a dozen episodes in the last 4 months...a couple pretty severe, where I did almost pass out.

#2 Extreme bloating..like I just drank a 2-litre bottle of pop. (I still have had no pop since 2006!!)

#3 "Charlie Horse" pains in my stomach

#4 I have also gained about 25# in the last 6 months. In my defense, I am watching what I am eating, quantity and quality, get exercise everyday. Not perfect but I feel like I am pretty darn good about 80% of the time!

So, I am curious. Has anyone else had similar issues? I do have an endoscopy (upper GI) scheduled in a couple weeks to check on my ulcerative esophagitis, which I have had for a few years. Going to have them "look around" while they are in there, to see if there is any explanation for my other issues.

Thoughts??

I'm sorry to read about your symptoms and food poisoning. *hugs

I hope they find the problem, fix it and get you back on the road to good health again.

I'm sorry my band is still installed so I can't offer any advise.

I do have a question:

What's swallow Vasovagal syncope? I've never heard of it.
