Hey everyone! Just wondering how you all log your food, liquid intake, Protein intake, exercise, etc. I've used MyFitnessPal in the past but is there anything out there that is easier? Or more bariatric friendly? Thanks so much!!! :)

I use myfitness pal and find it to be useful. I've tried using just the fitbit app, and that's less helpful. I'd be interested to know if there is anything else out there that's better.

I have been using MFP with my FitBit for just over a year. The combination works well for me. MFP covers most of the nutrition needs. It is rare that I can't account for foods in the listing and I can always add recipes and log favorites

I'm with them I use MFP. Even though I eat less than recommended it still is a great tool. If you decided to use it again please feel free to add me. Lovelytrl

I use MFP too. I find it pretty easy - maybe it's improved since you used it? I love that I can save meals and it remembers the items I eat regularly. I find it to be super quick and easy to use - and so many foods/products are in there!

If you use MFP and have the smartphone app, you can scan bar codes, which is great. Especially if you eat frozen meals a lot or are on the go.

When using mfp how do you determine how many carbs, fat and Protein to put in?

I use pencil and paper... I write down foods that did not agree with me ... I may wait awhile and try them again... If it happens again....I write NO!!! I like to have everything on a notebook so I can reflect on it! Yes... I have all the apps and a fitbit... But the old fashion way is the best for me....

Same here, I found the best thing for me was to buy a composition book, on the left side of the paper I've got Water, Protein, calories and sugar (that's what my dietician want me to track) and then in the right paper I write the times I eat, drink, or take medicine/vitamins... Writing how much and of course if the food did not sit well. It's old school but I find it really easy.... I'm eating basically the same things so far, three weeks out and in the soft food diets, so it's easy to do this right now.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
