What do you see when you look in the mirror?

Do you see the new skinnier you? I go shopping and pick up a shirt and think "oh that looks too small" then I try it on and its big. How long did it take for your brain to catch up with your body? LOL

I've often wondered about this. When I have lost weight in the past, my brain never had time to catch up because I was always gaining and losing. It'll be interesting to hear from those on the other side.

I kind of suffer from the opposite. I still have 50lbs or so to go, but I see collar bones and hip bones finally and have a tendency to think I'm smaller than I am. I keep trying to squeeze my ass into smaller jeans because I'm impatient and this is just taking entirely too long! :P

I look in the mirror naked and see a fat person. I look in the mirror with clothes on and see a thinner person. Is that wierd or what?

Not at all! The right clothes have a tendency to hide all kinds of things and make you look fabulous in them! Just watch "What Not to Wear" and be amazed!

This is exactly my experience most days! My new "thin" clothes tend to show off my best parts and I feel like I look great in them, but without... I see "relaxed fit" skin with all its lumps, bumps and wrinkles and its not so great!

I'm 25 months out and I still have a hard time believing its me that I am buying clothes for in these smaller sizes - but at the same time I have trouble remembering just what I looked like before - or more to the point - just how big I actually had been.

I see that my face is thinner, my bras are looser, and I have a bit of a waist now. But I still see a huge person when I look in the mirror...

I should add that I told my hubby, "hey, look, my bra cup is looser". He kind of frowned and said "that's not good". LOL!

I am not sleeved yet, but I know someone who has been. She lost a bunch of weight, around 140 pounds and she walks like she's still a larger person. Like she's going to bump into things or something.

I think it will take a long time to get to know our smaller selves and learn to live like a smaller person.

Somedays I see a fat person and somedays I see the new slimmer person! I can't buy clothes by judging the size anymore because I still go for the larger clothes.

I don't even know what size I am because I live in leggings and tops

I just noticed that large size leggings are loose so maybe time to drop to a medium LOL

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
