I want to encourage you to know that most of us have had trouble with drinking anything a the beginning. I also had diarrhea the first few weeks. Try not to worry to bad about the Protein right away. I think most of us didn't get too much at the beginning your stomach has so much healing to do. Try and keep the Water going just little sips often 1 yogurt lasted for 3 meals at the beginning. Try pudding it too will last for several meals too. My stomach didn't tolerate much at all. Popsicles and fudge pops were my best friends for weeks. Wish you luck with your journey.

What you are currently going through is perfectly normal. Most of us have dealt with diarrhea, cramps, and a bubbly stomach as the gasses used in surgery work their way out of your system. This will take about two weeks. You are on the right track just getting in Water and Jello. You should even try low sodium chicken broth as well. You really shouldn't even begin worrying about the Protein shakes for about another week. At first you may only be able to get in one a day, but keep at it.

I want to strongly encourage you to make a list of all the reasons you wanted to do the surgery in the first place. List all the things you have always wanted to do, but couldn't because of your weight. Keep that list with you and reference it every time you are feeling ovewhelmed with the process. This will not be the last time you feel this way, but you have an amazing community of people here that want nothing more than to see you be successful. We are all rooting for you.

If you have any questions or need anything at all I am here for you. You can contact me through any of the links below.

I am glad you are feeling better. The key for now will be to focus on all of the amazing things you will be doing in the future. Try to dwell on the good things going on instead of the bad. I know that is easier said than done. There is an amazing group of people here to work as a sounding board. If you need a buddy or anything at all, please don't hesitate to contact me. You are not alone :D

do you have the money to get the Protein and Vitamins that are required by the diet?

In the beginning it is important to take your Vitamins, fluids and Protein supplements. Your body is not surviving on your meals in this stage but rather is converting the fat in your body into energy. So at the beginning don't be too worried about your meals but concentrate on the requirements for Vitamins, fluids and Protein supplements.< /p>

Go to a food pantry if you have to to get cream of chicken Soup (strained), bullion cubes, broth, anything you can tolerate also get tuna or canned chicken for the puree phase - you will need it. Then, swallow your pride and fess up to the hospital/surgical team about your situation. They probably have samples of the Protein Shakes you can use and that are so critical for rebuilding muscle and healing. Good luck - and please find a physical support group.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
