Calling January Sleever????

Recommended Posts

I am sitting in a hotel room in Richmond waiting for 7:00 am to get here so I can check in at the hospital. I am nervous...because it is surgery. But, I feel like I am in competent, capable hands. I am a little extra nervous because my surgery is a revision from lap band to VSG. I understand there are increased risks, and I am just hoping that I remain healthy through this process.

Good luck to everyone going tomorrow!!

Update!

Surgery was 1-5-15

I'm down 56 pounds! I've been walking non stop, 2 weeks ago started an hour on the elliptical.

I'm am THRILLED with the results, I start back to work Monday the 2nd.

I've been a lil gaggy at times and I have a terrible habit of eating too fast. So I'm working on that. Eat too fast= vomit. Exercise is key.

How's the rest of jan Sleevers making out?!

Wow good for you!!! I am off soft foods as of March 5th, then I can technically eat whatever I want. But I'm staying with whats been working and staying down.

I am so so happy I did this. It's a big change but for once in the right direction!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
