October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Recommended Posts

Had my surgery on Oct 9th. I am down 15 lbs since surgery. I have a lot of pity party days. Anyone wanna join? I am sure things will get better. I puree Soups and have found I am craving spices, so I am adding garlic powder and black pepper. makes me have the feeling that I am having "real" food.

I also am having hunger attacks and stomach growling. I have been told its all in my mind. BS its in my stomach…or what is left of my stomach.

How long was your full liquid diet before your surgery?

Hi all, Oct 21st here. I still have some gas pain, sits right under my diaphragm. I've tried walking, gas strips, bouncing on my bed lol and even having my husband beat on my back. Still there. Other than that I'm just super tired. Only way I can really sleep is if I take my pain meds, I think because I'm too worked up about hurting my still tender incisions. Next week will be a better week, I'm just going to continue doing what I need :) everyone's journey is different, I need to remind myself of that a lot. I'll get there and I already know this will all be worth it!!

I was sleeved on 10/13. Pre-surgery weight 202, weight at surgery 196.6 and today I'm at 181.

I'm having a nauseous reaction to most food. I'm trying to walk 2miles 4 days a week, I do a ton of squats and pushups. I have the same amount of energy that I had pre-surgery.

Elaine Sunday,

I feel for you. My guess is the short pre op diet is a big cause of your cravings. Just my hunch though.

Best wishes,

Ken

Rmspencer, my surgery weight was 232. I did not have a pre surgery weight loss diet. Today I was 220.

Sounds like I might have picked a strict surgeon. Two weeks full liquids pre and 3 weeks of full liquids post op.

Hello all my surgery date was 10/13 and I've lost about 28lbs. It's probably because I don't want a thing to eat. The Protein Shakes are gross, I don't really like yogurt and I want nothing else. My biggest issue right now is coping with some major depression and the thought that I'll never be able to enjoy another meal with my family or friends. Going to talk to a counselor this week to get through this.

Hi, I just joined the forums. I had my sleeve done on October 21 and doing good so far. I'm curious to see what everyone is eating and also how fast people are returning to work.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
