November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!

Good morning!! Sounds good. Try to jeep that walking up when you get home and thanks for the update. :-) :-) :-)

@@Ldimples I'm with Jeffrey. Keep on walking, even if it's just from room to room in the house. The first couple days I was home it was so cold here even the dog didn't want to go out. I literally walked from one end of the house by the bedrooms down the hall to the kitchen (it's a straight shot) and counted laps....

Hope everybody is doing well. Its my second day home from the hospital and I am feeling really good. Some gas and pain but not too much. Before surgery I read from everyone that you feel better everyday after surgery. This is so true. Don't get discouraged if you feel bad the first day or two after surgery. Just work your surgeon's plan and you will get better everyday. For me right now that means fluids and walking. Its surprising how hard it is to get in all the fluids but I've already got about twice as much today as yesterday. Oh yeah, take your pain meds and use the GasX strips! Anyway, I am doing great and am glad to hear that you all are too. For those with a date coming up, good luck you will do fine!

Hi all November members! I am 11 days out and I can't believe how GOOD I feel. It still amazes me how smoothly things have gone. Each day truly does get better and better. I just got home from lunch with friends - I never dreamed I'd be able to eat at a restaurant already, manage a tiny Protein packed portion without overeating or eating too fast, dealing with wondering what others would think or say about be eating so little, etc. But it all went beautifully and I had a fantastic time. I am so happy I did this - and already wish I had had the surgery years ago.

I went for my post-op visit today and everything looks good. My doctor said I can start pureed foods on Monday. I am not sure what to eat or how to get creative during this stage. Any suggestions or recipes would be more then welcome! Thanks!

I am wrapping up my puree foods stage. I gotta say "creativity" is tough for me but my go to's are: Cottage cheese with pureed canned pineapple (the "no sugar added" can). I scoop maybe 2 tablespoons of the pineapple mush on top of 3 tblspns cottage cheese. Another common one I do is instant mashed potatoes with a scoop of cream of chicken Soup on top. Swear this pretty much tastes like gravy :-)

Surgery was on Thursday the 20th. That 1 day post op was a doozy! Nausea, dizziness and pain. After that things have been going well including the gas bubbles.

I'm 9 days post op and I feel great. I wore a pair of jeans yesterday that I haven't worn forever! My only issue is that my incisions are itching me to death!! I've used hydrocortisone cream, and benadryl and it helps a little, but not much. Any thoughts?

My incisions don't itch, but my lower left incision hurts when I stand up, sit down, or lie down. Sometimes it hurts when I'm walking and my clothes rub up against it. Elsewise I feel great!! I'm losing close to 8lbs a week, and fitting into clothes I never thought I'd ever wear again. I'm going up and down the stairs comfortably. It's all good!! :-) :-).

I'm doing great so far, haven't gotten on the scale since the morning of surgery and I don't plan on it until I go to the doctor on Tuesday. My stomach hurt a little last night but nothing to take a Tylenol for.

Woke up the morning early because my drain site was soar. I don't see anyone mentioning a drain. Am I the only one that has one? I have this long tube with a suction ball hanging out of my side. Doesn't bother me much but am not going anywhere public until this is out of me...Again, Tuesday.

I had a drain but it was removed the day I left the hospital. Strangest feeling I've ever had in my life!

I had a drain, and they removed it on discharge day. I have read posts on this blog site of people who went home with drain in their body. They talked about cleaning it, etc...

My incisions itched like crazy for about 2 days then eased up again. But for those 2 days, I was climbing the walls! I couldn't stand anything touching them. An icepack helped a lot.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
