November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!

Recommended Posts

@losingit74. So far, from what I know post-op there is about three weeks of liquid diet and then on to soft foods if all goes well to that point. I don't know much about the sleeve to give you an idea of how it would be different.

Wishing you the best :)

Hello. I'm new to the group. My date is Nov 10 in Memphis TN and I'm nervous as hell lol. Starting to question my decision.

Being nervous is ok. If you weren't the slightest bit nervous, I'd be worried about ya! This is a huge decision and will make the rest of your life healthier and physically easier to live. I don't know about you but I have such difficulty doing some of the most basic things. The thought of no more insulin or pills, and never having to find the largest chair in the room is absolutely worth it. Good luck to you! You can do it!

Nov 19th is my date (lap ban). I am starting liquid diet tomorrow ????. I am ready, I have been practicing for weeks now. What I mean by practicing it is, I have gone a few days without eating ( liquids only) just to see how I feel. The first day I did get a really bad headache but after that the headache went away. I did that a few times and so I think I'm really ready for the full 2 weeks. Already lost 8pds. I will be cooking for the week for my family. Big pot of chiili, spaghetti sauce, and stew. I will label everything and they are set. We had a family meeting because I need their support. The 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after are the hardest. I am determined to do this. I am nervous and scared but I am also very excited.

Hi! Mine is scheduled for November 11th. I am so very excited. Ready to start my new life

Me too. I'm really excited too, and look forward to being able to buy those "skinny" jeans next year at this time. Problme is that I'm really starting to panic. I'm not sleeping very well, and I find myself a little fixated on the things that can go wrong. I know that's not good. When I catch myself I try to get back to thinking all the good reason why I'm doing this.

Please don't question your decision. I think all of us on this board have done that, and after you do it once or twice you begin to realize that there isn't anything on this planet that we deserve to do for ourselves more than this surgery.

I'm on Nov. 11th. This group is a really good one. The support is great and the people are wonderful. I think next year around this time we should all pick a date to Celebrate together no matter where we are. How we Celebrate can be decided as this year unfolds.

I'm November 13th and also in NC!!

I can't believe it. I looked at your profile and recognized your doctor's name. I live in Monroe.... I'm having my surgery done at CMC Northeast on the 11th. We definately need to get together. Maybe after we're on our way and feeling good we could meet somewhere ( like a park) take a nice walk and sip some Protein Water together. :)

Message me if you're interested in trading contact info.

Deb

Anyone freaking out yet? The first round of November surgeries is about to start (unless someone's hospital does weekend surgeries)!!! Can't believe I only have three more days of work, then I'm having surgery!

Hi Jeffrey thanks for asking the cold is a little better. I rested all day yesterday and drank tons of fluids , I've been gargling with salt Water and taking it easy today. I think I'm going to be okay for surgery. It hasn't moved to my chest yet that was what I was worried about. Hopefully tomorrow will be even better and maybe I won't even mention it to my surgeon. Also thank you Schwinn girl 1987 for welcoming me to the group. Good luck to you Jeffrey coming up on Tuesday.... keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
