You are going to do awesome! I am so excited for you. I am a Dr. Nicholson patient too. I had my sleeve surgery two weeks ago (October 14th) and I feel great. My two week follow up appointment is Thursday afternoon at the Plano office. Let me know if you have any questions.

Well surgery went great, I was up walking like a crazy woman lol! Everyone said I looked great. Yesterday was tough with the gas pains but I got my gas x last night. I slept great no pain meds (except the pain patch) since last night. Walked a little today and I think it's getting close to nap time. I did not get my Protein in yesterday so I am really trying today. I am just not hungry at all so that is my goal today is to work on getting that nutrition in.

I wanna know about your 2 week follow up, keep me posted!!!

Texasmom5 - how long did it take you to get all the gas off and out of your stomach? That is the only issue I am still having and just curious if about how long this part lasts?

Also let me know how you 2 week appt went.

I am so glad your surgery went so well!!! My two week appt went great. It was ironic....I started throwing up as I was driving to my appt. Yesterday and today my multi Vitamin has made me throw up. Sandy said to stop taking my Vitamins for a couple weeks. I also have not been able to tolerate thick liquids very well so she said to stay on Clear Liquids for another five days then try thick liquids again. Isopure is my best friend these days!!! Overall I feel good.

I am so sorry you are dealing with gas pains. That is no fun. It took a few days for the gas pains to go away. I lived on Gas x and Pepcid and did lots of walking! I can always tell when it's time to take my Pepcid!!! I had to also take a lot of nausea medicine. I have a very sensitive stomach and I am prone to nausea so that was my main issue after surgery. I actually had to go to the ER the day after surgery because I couldn't stop throwing up. Sandy has been great!!!

Hi I'm a Nicholson patient too. I will be 8 weeks out Monday.

So far everything has been pretty great. I just had my 6 weeks checkup last week. They took blood for labs but I haven't gotten the results.

I have been really happy with my results so far!

Has anyone been to the meetings yet?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
