I ordered my unjur.y yesterday, since I'm just finishing up my vanilla Cream Protein mix at home. It was really good...but like $35 a jug, unless I buy 3 jugs. I had bought 2 chocolate and 1 vanilla cream. The chocolate is gross. Maybe once I can mix a banana in with it, it might be alright. But anyway--I hear the unjur.y is amazing! So you got the unflavored one, right? I ordered the vanilla. I still have some of my unflavored GENEPRO protein, so I can keep using that in my broth for now.

Glad you had a pretty good day out! And great job planning ahead, knowing your mom was going to be eating a chicken sandwich! (mouth watering again....LOL) I LOVE LOVE your Wonder Woman thermos!!!

I've been using Isopure ready-made zero carb and Unjury. If you like broth, try the Unjury Chicken Soup - it's good!

I made it home yesterday and got my 10k steps. I had a little trouble remembering to drink because of trying to catch up on emails for work and a professional conference for which I am the treasurer. I get to work and I forget to do everything but work and breathing. My goal today is to do better on drinking.

On a grosser note, what is up with the stuff they give you for the swallow test?! I was worried about becoming constipated because I have bad internal henohrroids, but no worries after THAT stuff cleared my system. EWWW!

pureed diet. I have eaten, scrambled egg, scrambled egg with a third a slice fat free cheese, fake crab salad, chicken, black Beans, and sf dark chocolate pudding w Protein added. eggs, chicken, black Beans and pudding all good. Normally about 2 measured ounces of the Protein, quarter cup of other. My stomach has been fine except not like the taste of a couple things which more just made me nauseous at the first bite. The egg alwith no cheese and the fake crab salad.< /p>

@Smiley922Well yesterday was Day1 Puréed. I finally took the first bite around 2pm tuna, low fat mayo & cottage cheese all good & no problem drinking 30 mins before & after. It was the dinner that I regretted I made Fish Tilapia with ricotta cheese , potato creme spinach. I cut the fish into small bites before cooking and added broth I must have eaten about 1/4 cup but I didn't measure maybe it was a 1/2 cup it went down ok I chewed it well but as soon as I took a couple bites of spinach Whoa. A feeling of having food stuck, a flush discomfort my new pouch didn't like it at all. I never brought it back but I was walking around standing rubbing my chest for a good hour before I could even try a few sips of crystal light.

I think that was a mild reaction- I don't want a bad reaction and I'm glad I was at home. 3 hours later I had some pudding & Greek yogurt much better. I'm going back to Protein shakes Soup & tuna today. So much for worrying I will over eat. ????

what I did with my Boston market spinach was run it through my babyfood maker then ate it. It kinda strained off the fibrous stems.

Hoping you've made the call to your Dr. And update us. I was told to take omneorozol for the acid buildup in the stomach and then they added another prescription of pepcid. I hope that's all that's going on!!

I had those awful friggin pains every hour yesterday. I called the nurse and asked about an acid buildup possibly and she said, "what acid are you talking about? Do you taste stomach acid? I told her no, that I wasn't feverish or nauseas but had these localized stabbing pains. She said if I could still pass gas, then there was no blockage and a leak would not stop after 10 mins. That I needed to got ot he bathroom more than likely and if I didn't go to call her back today. So, I tried Miralax, milk of magnesia, a laxative with stool softener, and more gas x along with as much Water as I could handle. It was so painful last night that I had to take another dose of oxycodone which I felt defeated the whole day. I have passed some gas last night, but still not gone to the bathroom. Round two today of that being my main objective. I have read where some of you have drank prune juice but honestly don't know if I could drink that? Is it really sweet bc I get nauseas if stuff is too sweet. Thanks guys.

I talked to the doctor today and they said the lower left abdominal pain is the pain they expect most patients to have. It's where they reconnected the duodenum to the the rest of the small intestine. She said in my cat scan that there was a little air there. Then she prescribed more hycet for pain.

Thank you layknee. My nurse didn't describe all of that. Just said I needed to go to the bathroom pronto. I also take hycet which is a real BM inhibiter. :(

Hi everyone. I have slept through my entire recovery. It turns out Oxycodone puts me to sleep. No gas pain. I am to go home today at the end of the day. Until then I am going to relax. Go on my walks and sip my fluids. And make endless trips to bathroom. My kidneys have been very busy with this IV. I feel good.

Okay, I'm an October RNY'er. I need to know if someone else is experiencing what I am. Since being released from the hospital yesterday, I have had crazy gas, movement in my bowels and stomach. It is so loud. It normally doesn't hurt, but sometime pushes air around releasing a fart, but most of the time it's diahrreah. I'm getting the runs about 5-6 times an hour. Am I the only one??

This is pretty much what I'm having too, although not as much diarrhea. Lots of loud gas movement. I'm 3 days post-op, so hoping it clears up soon. ????

Hi all, first time posting, I hope I'm doing it right. Had surgery Monday. Rny plus repay of hiatal and umbilical hernia and an esophageal repair I can't remember what it's called. Was screaming in pain right or if recovery. Surgeon sent me home with 5/325 norcos and I'm losing my mind. Haven't sleep more than couple hours here and there. He doesn't believe in pain meds. I'm also seeing him tomorrow but he seems annoyed by me! Is live to know what some of you took immediately post surgery at home so I can be prepared with info. Thanks much!

Wow- I can't believe he doesn't believe in pain management. I got a whole brochure about keeping ahead of the pain. (Not that I even want to take it at this point bc it's constipating) I have been using Protein Powder by Bariatric Advantage and Isopure zero unflavored. (Does well in cold, not good in heated food) and lots of Water. And miralax. I had a HH repair also and had to really practice deep breathing and slight coughing to open those airways for a few days. Keep posting. You sound like you need a lot of info, and these ladies sure do know what they're talking about. A lot of researchers in our group and very positive support.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
