Anyone foaming?

I've had three cases of "foamies" after eating chicken or turkey. Sometimes it's okay, sometimes it goes terribly wrong. Most recently tonight. It's a weird sensation where my mouth is filling with saliva and my stomachs feels something stuck uncomfortably. Then it starts this whole burping swallowing burping cycle until I either vomit or get through it. I feel like a cat with a hairball!

Oh my I was just about to write something about this. I ate a salmon filet yesterday and it was stuck for 5 hours. Vomiting and pain with severe foamed but never got the fish up. I had a few minor foaming issues like you described so I guess last night was the severe version. The dr said its common with meats that are denser early on bc we get comfortable with sorts that don't need to be chewed to death like these denser dryer meats. Let me tell you I learned my lesson! Be super mindful of how much you are biting and chewing ugh.

i am completely baffled by this weight stall. I am only 3 weeks past surgery and 11 days with no weight loss. I calculated this morning what I am eating and it's about 300-350 cals per day and 20 gr of Protein. How can you not lose weight with this kind of diet. SO STRANGE!

Beni I know all Drs are different but only 20grams of protein? I'm not going to say it's easy but my dr required 90-100 grams of protein early out and I noticed the difference. Even now, if I have a bad day with low numbers I'm up or stalled for the next day. When I get in the 70 I'm required I lose great. I know it's tough. I had an early stall too.

My surgery RNY was 5 weeks ago. I've started at 303 on day of surgery I was 280, the day after surgery I found a scale in the hospital and I was 289. I've been 260 for the last 9 days. I know I need to up my exercise and improve my diet. I'm getting close to my Fluid goal. And I'm getting my Protein in now. But one of my insicion open a bit so I just phoned the dr. Office. Sorry if it's to gross. post-234841-14164152928675_thumb.jpg

@@amylynns I have a suggestion regarding your egg. This is what the RN told me (not the NUT) and it worked.

I take 1 egg and mix it very well with about 1/8 cup of Lactaid, salt and pepper. I have a small nonstick pan with just enough oil to take a paper towel and rub it to coat the pan. On low heat, I stir my egg almost constantly as it cooks with a wooden spoon or small silicone spatula. I don't let it overcook. I place it on my plate and mush it some more with a fork and create ridges where the entire egg is divided into 25 tiny piles of egg. Each pile is the size of a human nail.

I set my timer for 30 minutes. I place each one of those piles in my mouth when a minute is up. I wait for a 28 for the next bite, 27 for the next, and so forth. It helps that my timer has seconds so I know to chew almost 30 to 45 seconds before swallowing. This way I cannot eat too fast. I am not allowing myself to place a bite in my mouth before the minute is up. If at anytime I feel any fullness i try to burp or wait a couple minutes before trying the next bite. I do the 30 minutes because I have a couple two minute breaks built in should I need them but I am usually done in 25 minutes. Sometimes I cannot finish the last 3 or 4 bites. Then I set my timer again for 30 minutes and that's the signal to start drinking again.

Hope it helps.

The extra moisture in the egg and the very disciplined bite size and timing are key. I had some issue with egg before but not anymore after trying it this way

ooooh you are so organized with it. Bad me timing my meals with video games or tv shows. Lol

You're doing great Layknee! You've lost a lot!! I have an incision that is infected! And there's a big hole in it now. :-( It started out just a tiny little hole where I could see one of the internal stitches. My RN told me to wash it 3 times a day with an antibacterial soap, which I've done. But it's opened up a lot more now and it red and gunky. This is the incision I've had so much trouble with with since the beginning. It's like indented, so I don't know how it's ever going to heal like that. I'm having that scope procedure done tomorrow so I need to call today and see if I can stop at the office and have them take a look at it. Oh joy! I'

thanks @@amylynns it's the same with my incision early on there were 2 tiny strings hanging from it. Maybe I'll need antibiotics also.

@layknee--Keep an eye on it. Mine started like a tiny hole like that.

It'll probably gross everyone out, so here's a warning. I'm going to go take a picture quick so you can see how bad it's gotten in just a week.

My surgeon says to get 60g of Protein. (although it's REALLY hard at this stage) But they said the more protein, the more you lose.

And maybe a call to your Dr.'s office/ nutritionist might be the next step. Maybe they can give some suggestions. 3 weeks seems like a long time with no loss!

I'm supposed to get around 90g of protein a day.

Can you see a difference? I can't really see one. Someone yesterday said she didn't recognize me because my face got so slim. The first pic was this past summer, the second was a week ago.

I think your scar is stretching and re-opening. Please consider butterfly band aid or an extra large bandaid that you apply by bending slightly in a way the tape pulls either side of the scar together. I did that to one that seemed to be spreading and it worked. It also helped keeping it together. Chance bandaid daily

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
