Me too. I feel like I am going to be on the books for the only person who doesn't lose weight after surgery. It is so distracting I can hardly focus on anything else. Having gone through all that we went through and now this. Everyone says , oh weight stalls are normal, this will pass. But hello this is a long stall and so early. I have not heard of anyone with a stall on week 2. It's devastating.

@"Beni"

thank you for the support. I bet you look great! And you will get there where people notice. We all will. That healthy, happy place. My co-workers do know... So we will see. Sounds like aside from the stall almost 30 pounds is awesome!

Also.. I lost a little in week 1. Then nothing until week 4. Now it has been coming off pretty steady.

@@walkin'onsunshine. Really you too had a stall early on? What do you think changed? The start of your stall seems so similar to mine. If I have hope that by week 4 things will happen I can live with that. Did you do anything different around week 4 to cause a loss?

I had decided to weigh myself every Friday but because of my bowel issues, I was trying to figure out if my lack of weight loss was due to that and was trying to figure it out. I agree, I need to pack my scale. I wish I could take it somewhere I couldn't get it. Safe deposit box for scale needed! Because I have not told anyone about my surgery, I can't really go and ask, can you keep my scale for me?

Anyone foaming?

I've had three cases of "foamies" after eating chicken or turkey. Sometimes it's okay, sometimes it goes terribly wrong. Most recently tonight. It's a weird sensation where my mouth is filling with saliva and my stomachs feels something stuck uncomfortably. Then it starts this whole burping swallowing burping cycle until I either vomit or get through it. I feel like a cat with a hairball!

Yes this happened to me last night after I ate salmon for dinner. I kept spitting & equaled up vomiting. I only had an ounce. I figured I ate to fast or didnt chew it enough. I have had salmon before & did fine. It is a very unpleasant feeling.

@@Beni It seams that I am in a stall as well. I have only lost 14 pounds since surgery and today is the 4th day I have not lost anything. It is so frustrating!

Thanks amylynns. I am on soft foods. I eat a lot of cottage cheese, tilapia. I did get this chicken which is weight watchers brand.. 31 grams of Protein. I cannot eat all in one sitting, but very good. I ate some steamed broccoli today. I eat eggs. I can eat Pasta, but try not to eat too much. I love Soups and chili. I found these frozen Greek yogurt bars. The chocolate is so yummy. 7 grams of protein. String cheese. lunch meets with cheese. Cooked carrots. Ground hamburger or turkey. The chicken bothered me a little. Not sure if I ate it slow enough. Veggie burgers settle well. I have been eating veggie burger with cottage cheese for lunch. I have been craving chocolate milk but have not had it due to the sugar. I had a Special K bar the other day for a treat, It settled very well. I have only had Water, no other drinks. I like red potatoes to.

Thanks! I can't wait for a little more variety. I'm on pureed until at least my 6 week check up on Dec. 1st.

Hey Honeys!! I am home! My son is acting distant, it was a very long time. After all my complications, today I can say I feel great. I tried on some jeans that haven't fit me since before I gained all the weight after the baby and they were sagging and falling off. I went food shopping and it went pretty good, I also walked 3 miles not including my 2 hours walking in the store. I missed my freedom. I am going to have extra doctors visits weekly but I am so glad to be home, I get to sleep with my baby and nomore annoying roommates lol. I am also getting 16oz of Water down in less than an hour without pain. I figured if I keep stopping myself I will never get my water in. I drink until I feel slightly full and my nut said its okay and won't stretch my pouch because its going through me. So I drink like 5oz every 15-20 mins and 4 to 5 bottles of liquid a day so 64 to 80oz. I am also having 2oz of tuna, chicken, beef, or pork 14G and then I use GENEPRO with this juice (healthy balance made with splenda or diet oceanspray) water mixure for an additional 60G of Protein, I drink that one slower so that it can absorb. I'm sorry I wrote so much I am just happy to be home and to be pain free and alive. Since getting my protein and water plus Vitamin in I barely feel weak, I am going to be cleared for solids in 2 weeks and exercise. I had to wait longer because of the complications. I still feel some regrets, but hopefully it fades completely. Okay ladies and gents, I hope everyone is great I love you all.

so happy for you Bronxy!!!????

I am starting to get really annoyed... It has been 3 weeks and my incisions are itching like hell

and they are red...

also, since 5 october I have only lost 3 kgs... which is the normal weight loss amount for anyone

but so soon after surgery shouldn't be more???? or am i paranoid? I am afraid that I am doing something wrong...

scaraway pads help with itching and reducing scars. post-234841-14163158677711_thumb.jpg

So I have been silent around a week I guess, being depressed with this stupid stall. Why I thought that being silent or sequestering myself would help I don't know. I guess I am the opposite of those that feel misery loves company. I officially HATE my scale! I knew the stall was coming and was okay for the 1st 4 days but COME ON!!!! Me being desperate enough to have my intestines rearranged should equal more pounds lost on the scale. I feel like a failure, it's depressing and then I decided it is what it is. I tell myself to stay away from the scale, that I'll only weigh myself once weekly. Yeah...right. I think I need to take the scale to my parents house they love 30 minutes away and if I'm desperate enough I can weigh myself at work. Sorry for the forever post, while I'm usually cheery I guess it was time for me to be blah. Hope everyone else fairs better!!! Welcome home Beonxmerci !

freelyme, I am in the same boat as you. My surgery was Oct. 22nd. I sometimes wonder if they did anything in there at all! I'm following all the rules and as of this morning I'm only down 9 pounds. I weigh everyday and I know I shouldn't. My pants are baggy and my ring is loose, that's the only way I can tell any difference! It's very depressing! I definitely have buyers remorse. Let's hope that we both have a happier story to tell in the next 6 months!

That is exactly how I felt. As your stomach heals you start feeling more of your food as it enters and if you take in too much. And your body is still adjusting so it's not sure what to do. At about 5 weeks everything started to really work.

@"amylynns".

When I was on puréed I was so over it by 5 weeks. So I ate a lot of Soup and chili and chewed it in my mouth until it was puréed. Lol. ????

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
