Just weighed myself 4 more LBS since Friday. Yeah! I start Puréed food Wednesday looking forward to Greek Yogurt & scrambled eggs. But I guess my weight loss will slow down with more calories in. I actually got 2 Protein drinks in yesterday & the liquid is going down easier so I guess swelling is down.

Now to focus on keeping to small sips & drinking 30 mins before & after soft food come tomorrow. ????

My surgery was at 7:30 yesterday morning. First day was kind of rough. Woke up in post op with a problem with my drain so there was blood everywhere and I had to be changed. Took one short walk but was very nauseous. Next few times I tried to get up were worse. But my nurse got on touch with my doctor and we switched to plain old Tylenol which did the trick. Went for a walk at 1 and 3:30 am. Got my cath out at 6 and went for a longer walk on my own. Things are moving along.

Ginger, just wondering why you didn't get the gastric bypass surgery done?

Oh goodness! Glad they got your drain straightened out. Gotta love that cath. So thankful when that came out. Good to hear you're up and walking about! Get that gas moving out before it causes pain. I had no has pain in the hospital. Mine was once I got home. No one to encourage me to get up and walk like the nurses did. :-) keep up the good work!

Hell yeah @@layknee ugh pain sucks. So I got the info now from my surgeon. Its not directly on my surgery, its a bloodclot on my main artery that goes to my liver, he said this is very rare and that I may have a genetic trait for bloodclots and stuff in the hematology lingo. I am going to be here for 4-5 days getting my blood monitored and getting those painful shots we got to soften our blood in the beginning of post op. They are going to have hematology visit me to see which tests they should do to find out why I got this. After I get discharged I'm going to have to take a blood softener for 6 months and they will control my pain via pain meds, which I don't want because they constipate me, but I don't want to ever feel that pain again. The doctor said that this bloodclot is the reason for my pain, my not being able to pass gas, or go number 2, and why I'm not hungry or thirsty. My lips are about to fall off so they are gonna start the ivs soon. Thanks for the well wishes guys ( @@freelyme )I am now on another vacation! Lol. Layknee how are you now? Are you able to get stuff down? Its crazy we're both having issues I wonder if our surgery day was a bad day for surgery. I was having a moment earlier of wishing I never did this surgery, but after the pain went away I'm still happy with my decision.

Glad you're getting taken care of. My mom had a stroke because of a wayward blood clot so it is serious business. When I started birth control as a teen they checked my clotting factors because of my mom's strike history. Keep up girl. We're praying and sending good vibes your way.

3 weeks out- Is anyone else having weird stuff with their body temperature?

Sometimes after I eat I get freezing cold. My hands and my feet are literally cold to the touch, and I get the chills. I've been spending an hour after each meal snuggled under a blanket.

Alternatively I walked to work today (3/4 mile) and while it's not the easiest walk - it's not like a march through Death Valley. Nevertheless now I can't seem to cool off! I've been here an hour and my skin is still hot. My face is so flushed that the mailman just asked if I have sunburn!

Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
