To be honest, I am just a huge believer in individual responsibility. I think that if people don't like a thread or a forum, they aren't obligated to read it. I don't think people need to be protected from being offended. They are adults, they'll get over it.

Hmmm... I find this post interesting. You appear quite offended yet you are here daily participating in the very same thing you are complaining about.

I'm not sure I understand your point.

I am here daily posting on various threads which interest me. I also find myself here daily defending my personal beliefs and that of others who believe like me as it seems to fashionable to berate said beliefs on this board these days.

If I walked by a faction who was beating up on homosexuals or fat people or Jewish people (insert most any group you like), I'm likely to defend them as well.

But, I will make a deal with you. If you put me on ignore, I won't be a thorn in your side anymore and I'll do the same for you if you like.

Its getting hard to post the same things on two threads..

But..

Its not protection. Its being discrete.

Like not saying, "I F'ed your daughter" to your father in law, but "Hey, we are going to have a baby"

Protection would be making r and r special access.

Im not saying, take it away, Im just saying, lets not give it a spotlight when the spotlight should be on "suzie smiths congrats thread that she made goal"

Then people should be posting on Suzie Smith's thread if they want that to have more emphasis. The only reason that the RnR threads show up on the "new posts" and "top 5" is because people are posting on those threads. If other people want other threads to be more popular or have a higher emphasis, they should post on those threads.

Again... its the same people who post here... the same people who push it to the top.

Its not more popular when the same group push it to the top over and over again

If you a have 1000 people on a board and 960 are spread over 1490 threads, and 40 people on 10 threads, it only looks like the 10 that the 40 are on are more popular

Awww, com'on... I've seen you defending and it's just not as you say. And no, I won't be putting you on ignore. Not a chance. :D

Then the solution is to post more on those other threads, not restrict access to the popular ones.

The r and r forum is only popular to a limited population base of lbt.
So? The solution is still to make other threads more popular, right? Or mark the entire RnR forum as "read". Problem solved.

It would be interesting to see the number of lurkers. LOTS of people lurk, not everyone posts. That goes for all threads, the whole forum, and all forums.

It only works if you keep marking it "read"

The moment someone comes along and posts.. its "fresh" again

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
