I am 5 days post op and have a horrible taste in my mouth. I can't stand any of the sugar free drinks. They leave a chemical taste in my mouth. I am able to eat sugar free jello. I am sticking with decaf tea and water. I'm having a hard time getting my protein in also. Any suggestions? Could I add frozen fruit to my protein shake and blend it very well?

I grew tired of the various SF drink mixes fairly quick as well. I started cutting bottled Water about 1/3 with cranberry juice, cran-grape juice, various diet cran-whatever juice cocktail (they sell almost cran-everything nowadays! ). Made it much more palatable.

The horrible taste in your mouth might be ketosis, especially if you are eating low carb.

I've been in ketosis before and I'm sure that's what it is. I'm hardly ingesting any calories at this point. I'm trying to get in Protein but everything else I'm drinking is calorie free.
