Im 3 weeks post op and 20 lbs down. It was so easy at first to not over eat and really, I didn't have an appetite at all, but now I fund myself not wanting to eat too much, but eat things that aren't actually good for me!! I hate my brain. It drives me crazy. I think about food all the time!!! I don't work, I'm on disability due to, two back surgeries, fibromyalgia, diabetes, arthritis and just general poor health. I have a lot of time on my hands. I try to walk when I'm not in pain. I can't do weights because my fibro, is attacking my biceps, I've never felt so much pain. I can barely lift my arms over my head. I want to get motivated. I want to walk everyday atleast a mile, two would be even better!! I need advice. I need an accountability partner. I hate myself right now. I'm still not getting enough Protein, I'm supposed to be logging my meals but I just don't.... Please help

Use a phone app for logging your food, they make it very easy, many things you can just scan the bar code and set the serving size. Myfitnesspal and loseit, are two very good ones.

Can you find a hobby, don't watch TV, the commercials would make Ghandi crack. When you feel weak, call a buddy, find one here. You are suffering from head hunger, girl.

Also, read something very helpful when you have a slip/binge etc. link is below.

I too have found myself thinking about food again. I don't want to eat because I am full all the time. But I have found there are a couple things that taste good so I am nervous about eating again. I do know that I stall when I don't get my water/protein in. I have heard from others when you get these feelings. To stop get back on the program at the beginning again. My "plan" has stages. So they said to go back one stage and see if it helps you feel better and start loosing again. If you don't go back one more stage. I know that I have read that we have to still count calories. You can easily get to many again. Just looked up calories for first two months should be from 300 - 600 calories. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/nutritional-guidelines-after-roux-en-y-gastric-bypass-surgery.html. I hope you find the support you need here. I am enjoying the stories that encourage me!

I just got inspired by your story. I too have been eating things I know are emttpty calories. I received bad news about my mom and it seems to have made me emotionally eat like I used to. You are very brave and I hope you can find some help here. You have already helped me enormously. I am going to get back on track because of you. Thanks!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
