Hi Diana, congratulations on your surgery and this new chapter of your life. It is all very emotional, isn't it? Some of us had grieving for things we thought we'd have to give up and then it turned out either it wasn't the case or it just didn't matter -- that emotional attachment to food goes away when the band dims the appetite. I am so glad to be out of food jail! Good luck with all. People respond to fills differently--for me it seems to take several days for it to "settle in."

3cc on a 10cc band. It was painless! If I don't feel restriction with 3cc I have to see the doctor In one week for another adjustment... ????????

Congratulations, Diana! The one thing my doctor stressed to me during my first fill (two weeks ago today) was to give my body time to "adjust & then listen" to it! Everything needed to sort-of settle so I could make an accurate determination on whether or not I had enough restriction. I'm going back on Monday for another fill because although I'm not having any issues, I would feel better with more restriction. Wishing you the best!

You're on your way! Be patient. We got an adjustable tool for a reason. The green zone is found slowly. Yay for you!

I had my first fill on Thursday. I also have 3 cc in a 10 cc band. I think I had myself so woked up about it. It really wasn't bad. My dr. doesn't want to see me back for 8 weeks. I thought that was a long time, but he said i'm doing fine and he'll see me then. I'm back on regular food tomorrow...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
